Introduction

Good day, Splinterlands! It's time again for Splinterlands' SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! DJINN INFERNI. For this post, I would like to share one of my battles using Djinn Inferni. As of the moment, I am playing in Modern League and has no Dragon or Fire Element to buff the Magic Attack of Djinn Inferni. That is the one of the reasons why I am not using Djinn Inferni most of the time. One of the other reasons is that Djinn Inferni, has low HP and no armor compared to other monsters with 7 mana cost. How did I survive this challenge and won a battle using Djinn Inferni? Let's take a look at it.

Here is a quick rundown of DJINN INFERNI stats.

DJINN INFERNI
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: EPIC
Element: FIRE
Attack: MAGIC
Abilities: GIANT KILLER AT LEVEL 1, STUN AT LEVEL 5

LORE

Djinn Inferni is the eldest of the ancient wardens of fire, spirits of flame that dwell in the deepest rivers of stone. Second only to Lord Janai himself, he is prideful and cunning, but fiercely loyal to his master. With the opening of the rift and the betrayal of Djinn Muriat he has taken up a blood oath of vengeance against the chaos exercitus, rising to the surface to lay waste to the enemies of stone and fire.

Battle Configuration

The Modern Format ruleset for this fight is Equalizer and the maximum amount of mana allowed is 21. I find this ruleset very compatible with Djinn Inferni because at Level 3, Djinn Inferni has 3 HP only and can be killed by monsters with Opportunity in a single hit. And because of the ruleset, I used monsters with low HP and high damage output. I used Tarsa as my summoner because most of my monsters with low HP and high damage output are melee monsters. In the first position, I used Exploding Rats in my first position because of its high speed and good damage output. I then used another monster with low HP and very useful in backdoor attacks, Uraeus. I then used Djinn Inferni in my third position. Even though it will not benefit from Tarsa's Melee attack buff, it's initial Magic Attack is quite high and can be fatal in a single attack. I then used Serpentine Spy as one of my backdoor attacker and lastly I used Scorch Fiend to aid my monsters from backdoor attackers from the opponent side. The idea of this battle configuration is for Exploding Rats to do the initial damage upfront to be followed by Djinn Inferni's Magic Attack.

  • Equalizer: The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health. Don't use high HP monsters and focus on high damage. Try to use a lot of monsters as well. Having a Tank Heal, Thorns, Triage for defense helps a lot. Splintercards Equalizer Ruleset.

Let's Battle!

Round 1 started quite good. The opponent used a Level 1 Summoner only and that gave me an advantage. My Exploding Rats was the first to attack and did damage to enemy Antoid Platoon and Scorch Fiend. Djinn Inferni then attacked Antoid Platoon, reducing its HP to 1 at the end of Round 1.

In Round 2, Exploding Rats killed Antoid Platoon followed by Djinn Inferni killing Scorch Fiend. I see that I already have the advantage by killing the opponent's tank.

In Round 3, opponent Serpentine Spy and Battering Ram's attacks on my Exploding Rats missed. And the combinations of huge attack output from my melee monsters and Djinn Inferni killed each opponent one by one.

And finally, the last blow on opponent's Uraeus led me to victory.

My Takeaway in using Djinn Inferni

Using Djinn Inferni really challenged my deck in winning battles. Djinn Inferni is a good attacker in Fire Element and might be a nice to have if you have a summoner that can boost its HP or protect it from backdoor attackers. In normal circumtances, if the ruleset has no Equalizer, I may not use Djinn Inferni. But seeing it killed opponent monsters in 1 Hit is quite enjoyable.
