Splinterlands Fan Art - Ravenhood Warden

Hello everyone, Lester here! Happy Pride Month and welcome back to another Splinterlands Fan Art. For this fan art, I drew Ravenhood Warden, one of the new Soulbound Cards in Splinterlands from Death element.

Here is the card reference image of Ravenhood Warden in Splinterlands.

Ravenhood Warden

The Ravenhood are an unkindness of ravenfolk that live in the Fenmoor Basin in Praetoria’s Shimmering Coasts. They are followers of Nestal, Goddess of Vengeance, Pestilence, and Disease, and forgive no injury or offense, seeking retribution (for years if necessary) until avenged.

The Ravenhood are fiercely territorial, and their Wardens serve as guardians of their land and people. Ravenhood Wardens patrol the forests, plains, and swamps on the outskirts of their settlements. They also enforce the laws of the Ravenhood and keep the peace...

My previous fan art is a Playful Madcap Magus which was depicted as a cheerful young mage. But for this fan art, my Ravenhood Warded is quite serious because of its job to guard their land and people.

I'd like to portray this character as frightening as possible. I began with a rough drawing of the character before moving on to the line art. I did not change the width of any lines this time. The original character carries a bow and arrows as well as a dagger on its back. This fan art holds two daggers which I planned to be made from a feather or a feather look-alike weapon.

I then chose flat colors that were similar to the color of the original image. Soft airbrush was used to add volume to its beak. I used the Blend tool to combine different shades of purple and black.

I used a G-pen, an India ink brush pen, and a Mili pen marker to provide shadows and volume to the rest of the body, as well as areas where the light will touch first. I used blue and yellow neon colors to create patterns on the dagger.

I used red, orange, and yellow gradients for the background. I then used a lightning pen that I downloaded to apply lightning to dark clouds, I then blur it slightly. I then added red sparkles and motion blur them to make it look like blood rain. I also added grass on the ground with a Grass pen.

After I was satisfied with the background, I added a shining ray of light coming from its eye to perhaps make it more fierce. The final touch was to put extra grass to its feet.

And here is the final output of my work.

My favorite aspect of this fan art is the daggers with the small patterns on them. I guess I adore adding those patterns to all of my fan art. That's it; I hope you appreciate its fierce appearance. 😁
