Fourth Riftwatchers Airdrop Card Revealed

The fourth Riftwatchers airdrop card (not counting the presale promo card, Oshuur Constantia) will be the Fire element Legendary card - Immolation!

Every Riftwatchers pack purchased within the first 1M packs will have a 0.36% chance of receiving an Immolation card in the airdrop. Additionally, players will be guaranteed to receive at least one Immolation airdrop card for every 275 packs purchased. Finally, each Immolation card that is airdropped to players will have a 4% chance of being a gold foil version of the card.

The airdrop card will be available to claim through the game website shortly after 2M Riftwatchers Gems packs have been sold. At the time of writing there are just over 100k packs left that will be eligible for the Immolation airdrop.

Immolation - Stats

Immolation is a powerhouse of a 12 Mana Fire Legendary card that packs a big Magic attack that Blasts damage to enemies who are unfortunate enough to be too close to his target. He is also Shielded, reducing incoming Melee and Ranged damage, he gains strength when characters die on the battlefield, and he Inspires his teammates giving them increased Melee attack while fighting by his side. We look forward to seeing Immolation lay waste to enemy teams in high mana battles while also being able to survive quite a beating himself!

Get Your Riftwatchers Gems

As mentioned above, there are just a bit over 100k Riftwatchers Gems packs remaining for sale that will be eligible for the Immolation airdrop, so be sure to pick up yours before they sell out!

Riftwatchers packs require both DEC and VOUCHER tokens to purchase. They cannot be purchased with CREDITS, and all DEC spent to purchase them goes to the SPS DAO for the benefit of all staked SPS token holders.

You can earn DEC and VOUCHER tokens via various methods within the Splinterlands game and token ecosystem, or you can also click on the "+" next to the DEC balance at the top of the Splinterlands game website for buying options on various third-party markets.

Immolation - Lore

When the Vuto-duum, refugees from a broken world, arrived on the Splinterlands, they created their ultimate warrior, Caladuum, from ancient magic using the potent fires of the Burning Lands. With such a mighty and powerful beast, they thought little of the consequences of what such a rite would bring, for if they had, they might never have forged ahead with their creation.

As the body of Caladuum finally became whole, a small part of the magic that had held its spirit for so long sank into the rocks of the Burning Lands carrying an essence of Caladuum with it. Dragged and pulled through tiny cracks and fissures, it knew not where it was going, and most of the subterranean vaults it passed through were empty until it came upon one littered with dry bones and the dust of ages. The light from the torn essence’s shade lit the chamber and revealed a broken altar strewn with all manner of artifacts and fetishes, a tattered shroud hanging from its side. When the essence touched the altar, something foul accosted it. At first it toiled with this new entity and tried to push it away, but the demon that appeared was stronger and quickly took control of the torn essence’s dwindling flame, overcoming the magic within. The demon was hungry, the appetite of eternity waiting upon its lips, and now that they were one, the essence too felt the need to sate this craving.

They left the chamber, and the onward journey carried an urgency that hadn’t been there before. When at last they came upon the great lava lake, the birthplace of Caladuum all those years ago, the demon plunged into the burning magma, dragging the essence with him. The lake’s fires fused the two souls together and created a fire demon the likes of which had never been seen before.

Stepping from the bubbling inferno, it dripped with molten fire and a burning desire to kill. As tall as a hill giant, the demon was cloaked in a pillar of fire, its horned skull peering through the flames with a twisted rictus. Clawed hands toyed with the fires, curling and bending the blaze to its will. But nothing burned as bright as the hatred that had completely consumed this new body. Full of an ancient rage and the pain of a hundred deaths that had been waged upon its forsaken soul, this new Immolation journeyed to the surface and sought the first living thing it could find, something it could utterly destroy, and not a single soul was safe.

I have a feeling this card won't see much use in lower level leagues but will be a dominating factor in higher leagues. 12* just seems too much for what is basically just a magic tank.

This card certainly becomes interesting is that from the gold league with the Inspire ability there would already be 2 cards with this ability in the CL/RW edition for the fire class because the second would be Tusk the wide which at level 4 also has inspire. In short you could have a lineup with +2 melee damage using the tusk/immolation pair.
