Greetings Splinterlanders, it’s time for another update from the Tower Defense development team at Double Coconut.

It’s been a busy week for all of us as we get ready for Splinterfest this weekend. Some of our team will be there in person to answer your questions. If you’re attending please come by and say hi.

This Week's Updates

It’s been all hands on deck getting ready for the event. We wanted to make sure we had some great stuff to show and some special announcements for the crowd. We’re excited to see that the general pack sales are off to a good start. Here’s your chance to join in on the fun.

Where We're At With Development

Unlike the artists, the rest of the team doesn’t get to show off their amazing talents as often. Rest assured there is lots of creativity going on behind the scenes.

  • ✅ Our designers are working with the Splinterlands team on developing the economy and game systems. As we are going to be one of the first games to have cross game NFT functionality, we want to make sure we get it right!
  • ✅ Our engine team is rolling in all of the special ability towers, fiends, and spells.
  • ✅ Our HTML5 team has built the intial map editor in conjunction with artists, so that we can use a tile system to create different size, configurations, and layouts for maps to provide numerous challenges in gameplay.
  • ✅ Our server engineers are working hard on the engine and the modeling for how the battles will flow and how the huge amount level data, fiend stats, map layout configs, and NFT data can be consumed and organized. It’s not flashy work but it’s going to pay off in the great game we’re making for you.

We have a few more surprises and engine demos, but those are a special preview to be shown first and foremost to attendees of Splinterfest.
Don’t worry, we’ll share them with you soon!

Art Updates

Last week you met the Great Reaper, one of the bosses coming for your souls, along with its minions Ghost Halberdier and Siren. We thought they looked a bit too pale :skull:, so we added some color and even some magic dust to begin having these baddies come alive.

Really looking forward to this. The P2E space is starting to really come together and put out some pretty good stuff, and some aspects of the grind are starting to become a little stale. This will be a breath of fresh air.
