Exploring the game as a complete noob - my experiences (credits to @kntucky)

[Day 2-4]

I would like to start off this blog by stating that what I formerly believed in Day 1 that it is not enough to only buy the spellbook is NOT TRUE!

You can definitely climb up the ranks even as a ++complete noob++. In fact, by the end of day 1 right after finishing my blog#1, I spent more time playing and I learned to rent cards.

I was surprised at how easy it is to rent cards and how cheap and profitable it was. I discovered peakmonsters.com and learned the very easy process of renting cards. You just pick a card you like, add it to cart and confirm your order, then it all happens automatically as your peakmonster account will be connected to your splinterlands account.

The interface was smooth, simple, modern, and very easy to understand. It was a smooth learning experience.

After learning to rent the cards I easily swoop down on the bots that have been giving me a hard time in Novice to Bronze League.

In fact I could have climbed up to Silver 3 on my day 2 of gameplay. ++As a complete noob!!++

But at the time, I noticed and learned about the Energy Capture Rate (ECR). The ECR is the rate at which you receive DEC from your battles. It starts off at 100% and goes down to 0%, Everyday it automatically recharges only 25%. ++Therefore it is recommended that you only play from 100% to 75% everyday to make sure that you maximize your earnings at the most efficient rate as possible.++

Anyway as I was saying, my ECR at the time was only at 40%, I was getting less than half of the supposed rewards. I played too much, so I decided to give a 2-3 day break to myself to let it restore to above 75% ECR at least. For the following days, I only played enough matches just to finish the daily quest and claim chest rewards.

So to sum this blog up, all I'm saying is, it is definitely doable to play to earn with only the spellbook. But it will take patience, and you will have to treat the game like an actual game first. You start small, and then you grow big. Learn the basics, Conquer the endgame.
