SPS Governance Proposal - Start the Survival Rewards Split This Season
This proposal was submitted by @clayboyn for review and approved to be ran as a DAO sponsored proposal by all members of the SPS DAO Foundation.
Due to the urgency of this situation, the SPS DAO Foundation board has agreed to expedite this proposal past the draft phase.
The purpose of this proposal is to allow the SPS DAO to choose whether or not they would like to start the new rewards split during this current season. We were just notified by the developers that the code change would be ready to go for Tuesday if we would like, but some felt that there should be additional advanced notice beyond the previous proposal that we just passed to make this change since the season just started.
If this proposal passes, the SPS DAO formally requests and approves that the new 70% automated and 30% manual rewards split for the Survival game mode will go into effect immediately during this current season. If this proposal fails, then the change in the rewards split will go into effect next season.
I'm not going to quit the game regardless and I haven't seen Bulldog's comment, but generally speaking we shouldn't change rewards once people have made their decisions on their brackets for that season based on the information available at the time. Might be bias though, as I'm currently playing bots allowed bracket manually because there was no point playing manually in human only bracket with rewards(and human match liquidity) as they were.
Regardless of what happens here - in the future, I believe the lesson to learn here is simple:
Don't change things mid-season.
I think this is a fantastic example of the double-edged sword that is a "Community Run" game... but nothing super serious.
