For myself personally I love the new battle ranking system and personally I feel like it makes A LOT more sense. I understand that's there's two sides to every story and while I keep hearing about new player experience and getting teamed up against too hard of players I get that. But also understand that over time that will figure itself out as those higher end players will stay higher end and no longer mess around in the lower rankings which was something that killed the experience for new players.

In fact it killed the general player experince for me for over a year. This was because even with a fully maxed out deck for all current cards at the time (that means up to chaos) I was stuck in bronze vs bots etc and unable to get out of it. I lost just about every battle despite having max cards that I couldn't use. So what was the point of me having max cards anymore?

I ended up not playing the game anymore and simply just renting everything out for a few bucks because it was more profitable (while not much profit was made) to do that over constantly losing and getting very few chests in bronze for the few amount of battles I could win.

Now with this new system I'm actully able to play the game again, get some half decent rewards for the tons of money and time I've poured into the game and just have a little fun winning some battles again.

With that being said I want to compare my rewards as I rank up and this post will go over my move from Silver to Gold.

Silver

Silver battles got a little heated, which is expected being that the change just happened about a week ago it's going to take time to filter people out. I played a little less during those days and saved up my energy and played two days later in order to now push myself into gold.

At the time I was making around 0.4 SPS per battle win which isn't crazy but it's something and feels like more than what I normally would make.

The rewards came in healthy as well in silver. For example this was my last 10 chest opening for silver.

As you can see it's normally around 0.15 SPS her chest roughly and some cards and potions are normally 1-3. Decent rewards for silver! Also note that these stats are based on MAX level SPS staked which will also greatly help with the rewards you end up pulling.

Gold

Today was the first day for me to open gold chests and I promise I did my best to get to 10 chests again for a side by side comparison but I only managed to get to 8 lol. Not too dang bad though still winning some matches and losing some matches at this level which is a good thing.

As you can see there's actully a rather large jump in rewards when I hit gold. No longer am I earning 1-3 potions instead it's more around 7 per chest. While the 13 SPS was a bit of a higher reward I feel like 0.924 SPS is more the range you would see which is pretty awesome because it's a little over double what I was seeing in silver. Also cards are being clumped together with this case being 6 and 2 for a total of 8 cards compared to silver that normally saw me max out as 2.

This is actully a good thing and before anyone says oh man I wish I was getting that and yada yada please understand I invested thousands into the game in Alpha and Beta. I've also held on to pretty much every bit of SPS I earned and even bought some off the markets in the last year. My most recent was picking up another 8,000+ sps off of pancakeswap just last week!

You Can Do It

Just like with anything you can do it but you have to put in the time and commitment. You see the Hive blockchain is a unique case including the SPT token. By spending around a hour a day playing Splinterlands and then writing up a good quality article about it you can quickly find yourself earning SPT, Hive and some other tokens. This can then be used to buy up more assets in the game. While it might not seem like much as first continue to do it for a few months, a year or even a few years and then look back at where you started. It's all a progression system like with anything in life. Those that stick to it and continue will find themselves moving forward.
