Market Value of Doctor Blight
Hi everyone,
Have you ever wonder what would be today the value of the Doctor Blight promo card? Well, my numbers: $123.30 for the standard version and $6168 for the gold promo card.
How did I come to these numbers? I started from the current market cost needed to get one Chaos Legion Pack during presale: $13.09 for the VOUCHER + $4 for one pack. The packs bought during the presale qualifies you for all the goodies, and you can sell the packs at a market value of $7.03
Most profitable ways to participate for the presale:
- buy 2000 packs to get 2400 packs plus 1 golden promo cards and 48 standard cards on average.
- buy 1000 packs to get 1150 packs plus 1 golden promo cards and 23 standard cards on average.
With basic math for the two versions, and considering the probability to get 1 golden card out of every 50 standard cards, and ignoring the value of the "The Legionnaire" title:
- if you bought the 2000 packs: $176.61 for a standard promo card, and $8830 for the gold promo card.
- if you bought the 1000 packs: $123.30 for a standard promo card, and $6168 for the gold promo card.
The starts of the new special card are impressive, and will definitely dominate the low mana battlefields in the Champion Leagues. Also, these prices are well in line with the current market prices we see for the Chain Golem special card, which was the equivalent Doctor Blight from the Untamed presale.
Does it make sense? What are your thoughts on this?

I have a feeling that the market value of Doctor Blight may be lower than the cost of acquisition. There was a lot of FOMO on the vouchers, causing prices to soar, and the supply of these new cards may be quite high. With a 2% chance of a regular Blight drop, plus the guarantee per 50 packs, that means there could be as many as 40,000 minted from the pre-sale airdrop.
It's possible but I think the price will probably land it more in the range of $200-$300 for a standard one. It will depend on the last push for the packs towards the end.
