New Entry in My Crypto Portfolio: Tower Defense

With the release of the Riftwatchers, I had planned to make a new invest in Splinterlands - to be precise, my plan was to get 100 packs in the presale, and I was prepared for it. But everything went so fast, and then the SPS price kept falling.

I was waiting and waiting... till today, when I decided to change plans and get onboard the Tower Defense adventure. I bought 100 packs with a good discount from paying with DEC:

Why Tower Defense?

What attracted me the most is the novelty of approach to give a new utility to already existing Splinterlands NFTs. In fact, this is one of the best feature of NFTs - you have full ownership, and you can use them as you wish - and I'm wondering why we are not seeing this more often. Of course, game creators would like to make revenue from selling their own cards, but often they ignore the power of already formed communities.

Today I was exploring two new games on the Hive blockchain: Bang! Defense and King of Duels. Both are in the early phase, but have already a good tokenomics and a playable engine. What they miss are the players, players which will come in a wave if they could have a new utility for their existing NFTs.

Personally I'm looking forward for the gameplay release and for the art work of the first cards. And hopefully, we will see more often this model applied also by other game developers.
