Splinterlands tips and tricks

Hello everyone! This week, I already wrote about my Splinterlands journey with some key milestones in it. Today I will try to list some tips and tricks which I wished to had known when I started my Splinterlands 'career'. I hope you'll enjoy reading this article and feel free to add even more tips in the comments. Let's talk Splinterlands now!

Join a guild

If you haven't already joined a guild, than you should definitely start to consider doing so. I joined my first guild a couple of weeks after I joined Splinterlands. I learned a lot from them and met some people with who I still have contact. It's because of them that I heard of the blogging aspect of Hive. I had no clue at all what Hive was. For those who are unaware what a guild is, it's a group of people playing Splinterlands like you often have clans in games. Besides the social aspect, you can participate in battles as well which rewards you with merits. These merits could be spent for gladiator cards. But for me the most important aspect of a guild is the support. You're a group of friends helping eachoth to becoming a better Splinterlands player but even becoming a better person in general! Ofcourse I want to give a shout out to my guild: The family tree which is part of @thealliance. Thanks for having me and keep up the good work!

Third party tools

There are plenty of tools built by individuals concerning Splinterlands such as bots, battlehelpers, wiki's, marketplaces,... to name a few. I won't list them all because I don't know them all and my article would be too long by just trying to list them all. But as I am talking from my point of view, I'll share those websites I am frequently using: Peakmonsters and splintercards.

Peakmonsters of @peakmonsters is probably the third party website I use the most by far. It has a marketplace, which is very easy to use. You can vote on Splinterlands proposals. There's a Splinterlands explorer where you can easily scroll through different events in regards to your Splinterlands account. They have a deck building feature where you can build your own deck which you could afterwards rent easily. You can view the decks built by other (pro) players as well. The possibilities with this site are truely unlimited. The only advice I can give, is: check it out!

Splintercards of @tehox is the other website which I use every now and then. I see it more as a wiki about Splinterlands. You can find all the cards with their price history. You got an overview of all cards with a certain ability. All the rulesets are listed as well. There are plenty of calculators related to Splinterlands as well. I could all list them here but it's better to check them out yourself as they are really straight forward to use!

Read about Splinterlands

This one is probably really straight forward but I still want to mention it. By reading and interacting with others, you grow your own knowledge. As already mentioned, on Hive, we're blessed with a social, blogging aspect as well. Use it to grow as a Splinterlands player. You can read the stories or guides of others. You have plenty of possibilities to ask questions as well.

I try to write a guide every now and then, so do other players as well. A good place to start, is the C/Splinterlands community. Another option is to check out the articles curated by @steemmonsters or @bdvoter which are both curating quality Splinterlands content.

Besides Hive itself, there is plenty of information available on other platforms as well. There are plznty of discord groups oriented around Splinterlands. There's a reddit community, there is the #splinterlands tag on X (former Twitter), there are groups on Telegram, etc. Here again, I won't list everything, just want to give some crumbles so you know where to go and search.

Conclusion

Join a guild, engage with others and read about Splinterlands. As easy as that! In the meantime, get to know new people from all over the world while possibly earning something. Life can be beautiful!

These are great tips. I understand genrally how to get on the steemonsters curation trail. They make it available for splinterlands content 2x per week.

But how do you make it onto the bdvoter curation trail? Their upvotes are nice and I'm sure the publicity from them will help me reach more readers. Any tips for me there?

I've also gotten more active on #inleo, posting daily short-form content where I highlight an EDM music video, new release, or DJ set that has caught my attention.

Have you spent any time looking into inleo and the cool twitter-like short-form interface it is developing? At the very least, I always make a single teaser post on inleo when I publish long-form content to Hive via PeakD!

About the bdvoter curation: Sometimes they upvote my content, sometimes not. I have no idea what their reasoning exactly is. I tried to use a #bdcommunity or #bdc tag in the past, didn't change anything.
I try to indeed participate in the social media challenge of Splinterlands twice a week and sometimes bdcvoter stops by and often not. I guess it's just luck.

Yes, I check out threads of inleo as well. Not that much, but I do check it out! :D I think it's a great format, just less suited for me :)
