The Battle

image.png

It's a battle with 15 mana with URise of the commons ruleset enabled.
This means the following:

Only common and rare monsters may be used in battle.

My team

Since I don't have other summoners besides the free summoners, the choise wasn't that hard. I prefered to go for Wizard of Eastwood over Obsidian. Since I wanted to place the goblin psychic in my team and also a nice tank. If I would have placed obsidian as a summoner, I would have had a problem with the maximum mana.

This Summoner has the ability to decrease the armor of all enemy monsters in the battle by -2. This also gives a nice synergy with my tank, whos thorns can damage the health of the enemies instead of hitting their armor.

In the front position I placed my favourite earth tank: Venari knifer.

Why did I choose this card?

He's a nice tank with his 7 health. I really wanted a tank with quite some health, so it would synergy well with my goblin psychic. Besides that I also had to make sure that my team fitted in the low mana battle.

In the second place, I put Goblin Psychic.

Why did I choose this card?

I really love this card in general. Why do I love it so much? Since it has the healing ability. It's one of the few free cards which can heal. The only weakness in my opinion is that it's quite vulnerable. So by placing this card on the battlefield I make the guess that the opponent won't go for a monster with sneak ability.

Fight!

Round 1

image.png
Start of round 1.

My Venari Knifer is tanking in this round the magic attacks of the enemy team. Meanwhile the Venari Knifer kills the enemy chaos agent. My Goblin Psychic is healing my tank as planned, while it also killed the enemy Mycelic Morphoid.

Round 2

image.png
Start of round 2.

In this round my Venari knifer keeps on tanking the enemy magic attacks. While the teamwork of my Venari knifer and my Goblin psychic lead to the death of the enemy Failed summoner. As in the previous round my Goblin psychic keeps on healing my tank.

Round 3

image.png
Start of round 3.

In this round it's getting close. Luckily my Venari knifer survives the enemy attack with 1 health. Afterwards it has the highest speed and it can kill the enemy Khmer Princess. Now the battle is over since the enemy team doesn't have enough damage anymore to outpace the healing of my Goblin Psychic.

Round 4

image.png
Start of round 4.

This round my monsters are just killing the last monster of the enemy team. The enemy Regal Peryton doesn't manage to dodge the attack of my Venari Knifer. (Otherwise the battle would have lasted one round more, so wouldn't have been a problem neither for me.) And than the star of this battle, my Goblin Psychic deals the final blow to the last enemy monster and the battle is over.

Conclusion

image.png

My guess that the enemy wouldn't play a monster with sneak worked out fine. If he would have done so, my winning chanches would have been much smaller.

Since he couldn't reach my backline, my Goblin Psychic managed to outheal the enemy damage on my Venari knifer. Meanwhile the Goblin Psychic and the Venari Knifer could slowly kill the enemy team.

About me

I am a person who discovered the Hive community in December 2021. I was looking for a new cardgame to play and eventually earn something in. After some research I discovered Splinterlands. Splinterlands is an innovative addition to the play-to-earn games in the NFT world. Previously known as Steem Monsters, the game operates on the Hive blockchain and belongs to the trading game genre. In Splinterlands, players fight against monsters to get in-game rewards.

I decided to pay the $10 after playing some matches for free. 10 bucks for a computergame seemed fair for me. At the moment I'm trying to build out my carddeck by playing the game and participating in the community. At the moment of writing, my $10 became already worth more!
