The Battle
It's a battle with 27 mana with Rise of the commons ruleset enabled.
This means the following:
Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.
My team
Since I don't have other summoners besides the free summoners, the choise wasn't that hard. In fire I usually prefer one summoner to boost the attack of my monsters: Tarsa.
This Summoner has the ability to increase the health of all your monsters in the battle. Besides the increase in health, Tarsa also boosts the attack of my monsters.
In the front position I placed my favourite fire tank: Living lava.
Why did I choose this card?
He's a nice tank with his 6 health and 2 shield. And he also has the shield ability. Since no nature summoners were allowed, I tought that the chanches would be rather small that my opponent would go for magic monsters.
In the second place, I put Chaos agent.
Why did I choose this card?
I put him there so my Serpentine Spy has some defence against enemy monsters with opportunity.
In the third place, I put Spark Pixies.
Why did I choose this card?
I put him there so my Serpentine Spy has some defence against enemy monsters with opportunity. He's king in dodging melee and ranged attacks with her Flying ability and 5 speed.
In the fourth place, I put Serpentine Spy.
Why did I choose this card?
Serpentine Spy is really king when talking about assassins with his opportunity. He has quite high speed of 3 and 2 attack. This card has a nice synergy with Tarsa, so he can kill quite some enemies.
In the fifth place, I put Tenyii Striker.
Why did I choose this card?
Tenyii Striker is really king when talking about assassinating the backline with his sneak ability. He has quite high attack of 2. This card has a nice synergy with Tarsa, so he can kill quite some enemies.
In the sixth place, I put Lava Spider.
Why did I choose this card?
The Lava Spider has quite some health for being only 3 mana. So I used her mainly as a meat shield to protect my Tenyii Striker.
Fight!
Round 1
Start of round 1.
In round 1 both tanks are tanking nicely. My Living Lava tanked all the attacks of the opponent. In the enemy team his Shieldbearer tanked all my attacks. He denied my Opportunity and sneak attacks since the Shieldbearer has the taunt ability which makes that all my monsters are forced to attack him.
Round 2
Start of round 2.
In this round the tanks die and the real fight starts to develop. For my team it's really the round of Sparking Pixies who are truly shining by dodging different attacks. While Sparking Pixies is dodging, my Serpentine Spy and Tenyii Striker can kill the enemy backline. This way the enemy Pelacor Arbalest got killed which is a big damagedealer, so the fight is going in the right direction!
Round 3
Start of round 3.
In this round the enemy team got killed nearly completely, it's clear that I'll win this battle since the enemy only has a Herbalist remaining which won't be able to attack from the first position since it's a ranged unit.
Round 4
Start of round 4.
This round only 1 attack happens. My Serpentine Spy attacks and kills the enemy Herbalist which finishes the battle in my advantage.
Conclusion
My strategy worked out fine. My Living Lava tanked the first round, afterwards my Sparking Pixies could dodge some attacks while the Serpentine Spy and the Tenyii Striker could take out the enemy backline.
The role of the Lava spider wasn't necessary. The enemy didn't have sneak units, so its role as meatshield didn't work out as planned. Ofcourse when battling in Splinterlands you never know what enemy you'll face, so it still wasn't a bad decision in my opinion.

About me
I am a person who discovered the Hive community in December 2021. I was looking for a new cardgame to play and eventually earn something in. After some research I discovered Splinterlands. Splinterlands is an innovative addition to the play-to-earn games in the NFT world. Previously known as Steem Monsters, the game operates on the Hive blockchain and belongs to the trading game genre. In Splinterlands, players fight against monsters to get in-game rewards.
I decided to pay the $10 after playing some matches for free. 10 bucks for a computergame seemed fair for me. At the moment I'm trying to build out my carddeck by playing the game and participating in the community. At the moment of writing, my $10 became already worth more!
