Why I delegate to WOO and Holozing

Why now is a good time to delegate to WOO (and Holozing)

image.png

Hello everyone, today an article about why I delegate to @wrestorgonline and @holozing. Probably you're wondering why I combine them in one article? Well, those are the projects I'm delegating my Hive Power to at the moment, nothing more or less. As I discovered Hive through #play-2-earn gaming, I am still trying to keep up with this space on Hive. Although there are a lot of different games and even more games in development so I have to be picky about which projects I want to invest in on one hand and follow all their updates on the other hand. As investing in something requieres you to be up-2-date otherwise you'll definitely loose out on opportunities. So, let's dive into the first project: Wrestling Organization Online of @wrestorgonline

image.png

What is WOO?

Wrestling Organization Online is a play-to-earn business management game where players can build their Organization by acquiring wrestlers, upgrading facilities, and competing to earn more of the game's own token $WOO.

When defining certain projects, I think it's always a great start to check out their Whitepaper so above definition comes from that document. As you probably already know, it's a play-2-earn game on the Hive blockchain in the theme of Territory wrestling.

A lot could be said about WOO, but to get more information in general, check out the posts of @wrestorgonline and make sure to join their discord: https://discord.gg/woogame

Why I delegate to WOO?

Well, first I have to make an apology to WOO, I lowered my delegated Hive Power to WOO. I already hear you thinking: Wait, you mention WOO but than you tell us that you lowered your HP delegation. You're right! It's kind of strange but I'll try to explain why I did so.

In the past, I have used nearly all of my available Hive Power to delegate it to WOO, so I think I've been quite supportive in relative terms towards my Hive Power. Although I only have about 900 Hive Power available, it's not the biggest absolute amount but in percentages, it definitely was the biggest part which was delegated to WOO. Delegating to the WOO project earns me $WOO, which is the governance token of their project. I didn't count how much $WOO I earned so far by delegating, but I am quite confident it's a couple of 100K's of $WOO. Which is quite nice for just delegating a couple of 100 Hive Power to them.

In the last weeks some big delegators cancelled their delegation to WOO as they were in need of their HP for their own / other projects. Ofcourse everyone is always free where he / she places his/her Hive Power, so definitely no hard feelings towards anyone! One of those big delegators and longterm supporters of WOO, is @acidyo. As he started his own (or let's say one more, as he already has the @poshtoken and @ocdb project), he wanted his Hive Power back to support his latest new project: @holozing. More about that project later on in this article.

image.png

As said, he was a big delegator, so him cancelling his delegation to WOO made that the apr % for the other delegators started to climb. When we look at the current apr%, it's at 27%. This is definitely a great apr, so it's really worth to have a look at your excess Hive Power. ;)

At the moment, delegating Hive Power to @wrestorgonline is one of the few ways of earning WOO, besides staking rewards and providing liquidity to swap pools. Delegating your Hive Power is the least risky of all these options to earn yourself some $WOO.

What is Holozing?

A roleplaying adventure game for both casual and competitive players
The game offers many creatures to catch and train with healers to keep them alive and strong while at the same time allowing you to master your chosen professions to craft, find and collect the perfect items with true ownership.
Source

Here again, I would like to point people to the whitepaper of the project for more in detail information. For those who don't want to spit out the whole whitepaper, I can tell you that you'll be able to capture creatures in a fictional world. You'll encounter new creatures, will be able to (try to) catch them and battle against other players. All of this will be powered by the Hive blockchain. For those who have experience with the Pokemon franchise, it looks kind of similar but on the Hive Blockchain and with a creative twist in terms of healing and NFT's.

As you could already read above, Acid stopped his HP delegation to WOO as he wanted to support his own project, which is logical ofcourse! He wasn't the only one, as I think Holozing sounds really amazing, as a gamer I always have loved the Pokemon franchise, I did the same. I cancelled my HP delegation to WOO as I wanted to make sure to grab some $ZING tokens which are rewarded to those who delegate Hive Power to @holozing. As I don't have that many Hive Power, I didn't want to split it up and decided to delegate everything to Holozing as I already acquiered a decent amount of $WOO.

Besides delegating Hive Power to @holozing, you can also earn $ZING by holding $POSH, as or staking your $ZING tokens. So the ways are pretty limited to earn yourself some $ZING tokens! As I don't own $POSH, the only way for me, is delegating Hive Power.

I wanted to include the apr for delegations to holozing, but they aren't available yet on the website as long as the token isn't traded, which makes sense as it's quite hard, like impossible, to describe this % otherwise. But as the rewards for delegating Hive Power started on Saturday 21st at 7pm UTC and the unstaking happens in 28 days in 4 periods of 7 days, so the first tokens will probably hit the market around 7pm UTC. I am really wondering how the market will price them, so that will be an exciting moment to look forward to!

As always, thanks for reading my article! Feel free to elaborate on which projects you're delegating your Hive Power in the comments!

Have to mention that I also think I've accumulated enough Woo for now so instead of leaving some HP with the account I thought I'd give others a chance to earn some as well as it may be healthy for the game and ecosystem if it's spread out more!

Thanks for adding that statement. As you're the actual 'leader'* in terms of staked $WOO, outside the staff of WOO, I definitely think that's another good argument!

'* Wanted to check if you still are, I remember you were leading big, but https://he.dtools.dev/richlist/woo doesn't seem to load for me, so I will just call you the leader ;p

It's good to know that @acidyo was a long-term supporter of #WOOGame.

Me too, I already accumulated 100,000 plus $WOO.

Delegating your Hive Power is the least risky of all these options to earn yourself some $WOO.

I just recently realized this after delegating 1,000 HP to @zingtoken.

I think both projects are very promising so yea, choosing is losing out on the other one.

As you and Acid already said as well, I already accumulated quite some $WOO as well, so want to not miss out on another project neither. :D

Thanks for stopping by!

I don't know how token delegation works in terms of rewards. However, as I see how it works by delegating to @zingtoken, I am curious so I also test delegating 100 HP to @wrestorgonline to see the difference between staking, liquidity pool, and delegation reward.

Staking, delegating hp and adding liquidity to pools give different rewards. BUT they have different 'risks' associated with each option as well.
Delegting hp is the least risky in my opinion. If something would go wrong with a project, you just c1ncel your hp delegation and you lose nothing.
Staking 'locks up' your tokens, so if you believe in a project and don't use the tokens, staking is a good option to accumulate even more while holding your tokens.
Adding liquidity to pools often gives higher rewards but there is the 'impermanent loss' risk, you can read about it here

So yes, every option has its advantages and disadvantages so do your own research to know what (combination) fits you best :)

I agree that delegating HP has the least risk.

I had initially considered WOO as my next project following Splinterlands. However, when Holozing emerged with its striking resemblance to Pokemon, I found myself unable to resist choosing it over WOO 😅

Delegated some HP to the project and hoping to add more in the near future! 😊

Haha, I get the hard decision! As I'm already set 'quite fine' for WOO, atleast until the game launches and we have more details, I try to get my foot in Holozing as well.
The Pokémon franchise definitely was a series of games I adored!

Yeah I don't have a lot of HP to delegate for now
but hoping to increase those stakes slowly over the next few months!
To be honest, I am pretty excited about the game! 😁
