Hello Splinterlands!
I've been battling only since October 30th and I must say...I'm pretty hooked! Not only is the game itself pretty chill and mentally stimulating at the same time, but the whole crypto/blockchain aspect is humbling to say the least.
I like to think I'm picking up the game pretty quick thanks to a lot of the information readily available from this fantastic community. Shoutout to @bulldog1205 , @lyerpald , and @luthien12 for amazing streams and genuinely fun discourse. My first time watching @lyerpald live I entered my name in for the raffle and won twice! It was a much needed boost to my DEC funds for a new player. Then that very same day, I got to battle @luthien12 live, and although I got stomped, I was still given a chance to spin the wheel and wound up winning a Nightmare card! What a rewarding experience for my first week of playing...especially coming from other gaming communities that are nowhere near as pleasant as Splinterlands.
Here I am writing a post about it, when that's something I never really do with a game, but hey, it just feels right after being welcomed so quickly.
I'm sure I'll be writing more here about the next time my mind gets blown in a positive way...like this morning when @acidhookerdrip gifted @lyerpald like 5 or 6 gold foil cards to be raffled. I didn't win any this time, but it was still a really fun experience to witness.
Anyway...I just figured out how to auto rent for CP on Peakmonsters, and was able to get my 5,000 power needed to reach Bronze 1 for like 32 DEC/day...hopefully that's a good deal...it feels like it is. I'm only a couple wins away from Bronze 1 and only a little time left before my daily quest resets. Excited to be one step closer to that sweet sweet Silver before the end of season. Thanks again to this amazing community, and I'm looking forward to the day when I can pay it forward.

Also, letting you know since content on the Hive platform is monetized, using other people’s ideas or images could be considered as an offense and which is also viewed in a serious light on the blockchain. Here is a useful collection of resources about how plagiarism and abuse is viewed and handled on Hive.
