Share Your Battle: Diemonshark

"Since they can travel by air, ground, or sea, they are ideally suited for the task." This is a quote directly from Diemonshark's lore which funny enough makes it a perfect fit for the Sharknado movie, hence the cover art.

For this week's Share Yout Battle theme, let's dig deeper into Diemoshark's monstrous capabilities.

Diemonshark's art makes an impression of it being a very tough creature with it's overlapping layers of armor plating. And sure enough, this toughness is well reflected in its stats and abilities. But for the overall apperance itself, it more resembles a sea serpent than an actual shark.

As I mentioned above, according to the lore, these Diemonsharks are used as a medium of transportation for the Chaos Legion. They can travel in the air, land and sea. I can barely imagine how bad life in Praetoria is. It's bad enough that there are dragons and monstrous birds to look out for in the sky, now there are even flying sharks prowling around.

Diemonshark's stats and ability design truly reflects the characteristics of a real shark. It has strong attack, it's fast, and very durable. Having both high armor and health, Diemonshark is a good pick as a tank especially when combined with Kelya as the summoner.

As an addition to Diemonshark's viciousness, the trample ability can dispatch multiple enemies in a single turn. The enrage can also be a game changer since it already has good speed. This can be further enhanced by monsters with swiftness and slow.

For the featured battle, it is a bronze level 30-mana standard match. The opponent goes heavy on magic offense with Unicorn Mustang as tank.

I went with Kelya with Diemonshark as the frontliner. I also added two other shark cards, Demented Shark for increased melee damage and Wave Runner as melee support.

Luckily, the enemy's healer, Goblin Psychic, is taken out early by my sneak monsters, Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit. Meanwhile, Diemonshark takes heavy beating from magic attacks since his armor provides no defense against it.

Diemonshark and Wave Runner falls but in exchange, my sneak monsters have assasinated the enemy's backline magic monsters. It's still a close game since my monsters can be killed with just one attack except for Demented Shark.

Regal Peryton dodged a handful of attacks and I lost both Uraeus and Pelacor Bandit. It was down to a one-on-one with my Demented Shark. It was a very close fight and Demented Shark finally lands the killing blow with two health remaining on it.

This was a disadvantageous match for Diemonshark since the enemy focused on magic attacks. But nonetheless, it has earned its keep by heavily wounding Unicorn Mustang while withstanding enemy attacks. You can check out the full match here.
