Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge: SUPER SNEAK!

What's up! This is my first time joining the Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge.

The ruleset in focus is Super Sneak. In this ruleset, all Melee attack monsters have the Sneak ability. The Sneak ability allows monsters to target the last monster on the enemy team instead of the first monster.

Some things to note in Super Sneak:

• If the enemy places a monster with the Taunt ability, your monsters will of course target the enemy with Taunt.
• Sneak supersedes Opportunity in this specific ruleset. If a melee monster also has Opportunity, Sneak takes priority, causing them to target the last monster on the enemy team instead of the one with the least health.
• Monsters with Camouflage still cannot be targeted unless they are on the frontline (or via Scattershot 🤣)

Some important abilities in Super Sneak:

• Taunt: You can play a Taunt monster so that the enemy will focus on it instead of attacking your backline. Ideally, the Taunt monster should be able to last long by having good defense or dodge, and having support, such as a healer.
• Shield: You can defend against Sneak by having a monster with Shield in the last position.
• Thorns: If you place a monster with Thorns in the last position, it will deal damage back to its melee attackers. Note: The Summoner Mylor Crowling gives your whole team the Thorns ability.
• Retaliate: When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance of attacking their attacker
• Support abilities: Triage, Repair, Heal, Resurrect. Well support abilities are always important so use them accordingly.

Now on to my battle!

The Rulesets:

There are very limited options here as only Death and Dragon splinters are available. The Rise of the Commons ruleset means I can only use common and rare monsters (I can still use epic or legendary summoners!). The Ferocity rule means any card with Taunt will receive double damage.

By the way, this is a Tier-3 Brawl battle in Modern format.

I don't have to worry about Taunt in this battle, because of the Ferocity ruleset.

There are only 3 cards with Shield that I can use here, but they're not that good in Bronze.

There's only 1 card with Thorns that I can use, so I will definitely use it.

So I chose Byzantine Kitty as my summoner because it can support my tank with heal, it gives my cards the True Strike ability so they won't miss their attacks. And it gives +2 speed which increases the likelihood that my cards would attack first.

I chose Cursed Windeku as my tank because it has Thorns and it has a good amount of health. For my last position, I decided to defend by using a fast monster and hoping that the enemy will miss. I chose between Nightmare and Naga Assassin but ultimately decided on the latter. I thought Nightmare is better placed behind Cursed Windeku of that it can become the tank if Windeku dies quickly. Also, if the enemy decides to use all melee monsters, I don't want to risk Nightmare dying quickly because I need its Blast ability.

Next monster I chose was Ravenhood Warden. It's a soulbound reward card that has the Protect ability to give my team +2 armor. This helps defend against melee and range attacks and of course against potential damage from Thorns.

Next is Silent Shavi because it is fast and deals good damage. Last card I chose is Dhampir Infiltrator. It has double attack so it can deal good damage, though it would suck if the target has Shield or Thorns.

My opponent also used Kitty so my plan of trying to dodge the sneak attacks was a failure 🤣. He also used Protect but he used Arkemis which costs 12 mana. I think that's the difference. He spent too much mana on Arkemis so he didn't have enough in his backline.
