A Month of Pussy

You know when you want to try something different? Be a little adventurous? Go out on a limb? Just throw caution to the wind and get crazy?

Yeah?

Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with get frisky in the bedroom and instead is about for the first time in my life, having to pay for pussy (directly).

image.png

Last season I was left high and dry and no amount of DEC lube was going to get get me a wet kitty, so I had to beg for it from @revisesociology, who graciously bent over backwards and offered me his for the last couple days of the season for me to climb into C2. I can do without a lot of cards, but I can't go without a pussy for very long.

But, I have been eyeing one on the markets for a couple weeks now and since it came up in a chat that it is there, I thought I better "Trump it" and grab that Kitty before someone else does. It wasn't cheap, which is where the title of the post comes from, as it is pretty much a month's working salary. That's insane!

But, I had a look on the rental market and even though it is only the start of the season, there were none available for rent already - That is insane too!

image.png

Lol - the Market cap of regular kittles is 1.1M and golds is over 2.5M - I don't think they are going to ever realize that, but, I do think that they are a decent card that has a limited supply, and I also think that it isn't a bad idea to have some quality summoners in the stable and I think the oldest profession is proof, there is always a market for pussy.

Enough with the crude humor!

The other day I did something silly and sold 300 vouchers and swapped for two plots, when I probably should have bought a couple hundred vouchers off the market and bought a validator license instead. But, I still feel that I don't have enough basic assets in Splinterlands for my liking, so trying to get my hands on some while I can. I will very likely regret this, so you have been warned.

On top of this, I have added to the DEC:SPS pool, but I might hold it where it is now that there is 100 days left in the drop. This should help gather me around 100K SPS in that time through airdrop, which in itself is getting 25% on it, so at worst, I will break even on what I have put in and at best, it will be worth a hell of a lot more.

I like it when it is "worth a hell of a lot more" than I thought.

I was talking to a young guy the other day who got into crypto a year or so back, but who has been buying NFTs on Opensea. What he hasn't realized however is that most of those projects are being pumped and dumped, with the hype mostly generated from internal project team sales, that make it appear like it is worth getting involved. Sure, there is money to be made, but eventually the vast majority of those are going to zero, because the types of people buying them don't give a crap about the projects.

The other thing that we talked about was how while most people want marketing activities to drive the price up, real investors into a project want longevity, and this requires core development for security, speed and scalability. The other thing that I said he should be wary of is that most of the outspoken "investors" on Twitter in regards to many of these hype projects don't have much skin in the game, but they need the project to do well.

This is something real investors would consider, because they aren't going to put too much money they need in a "soon" timeframe, into a project with high uncertainty, it is just too risky. The investors are going to be looking to go long on their investments, which means they aren't hoping for a pump and dump, they are looking for the fundamentals to bring the value up and create some sustainability. This always takes time, but it is where the real money is going to be made, because it benefits from mass adoption, not flash in the pan hype.

The other thing to note is that while there are a lot of stories of people "getting scammed" in crypto, it generally comes with a common thread - the people can't afford to be scammed. What I mean by this is that they are almost unanimously desperate or in need of their money - which makes them greedy. People don't like to be labelled greedy of course, but it is this greed that blinds so many to back a "too good to be true" opportunity.

They are also the ones who will drag others into the investment with them, hype it on Twitter and then be complaining angrily about how unfair it is when it collapses. They went in blind and stayed blind, even when it collapses, because they still don't see that the main cause of their loss was indeed themselves and their Desire to want a particular outcome to be true.

I am not going in blind to this, even though I hope that Splinterlands will do very well for me and many others over the coming years. While there is a massive amount of potential in the game and the company to become a gaming force in the growing crypto game industry, it is probably still even money that it all collapses in the mid to long term - perhaps "even money" is overestimating the chances.

However, even if no one wants to pay for my pussy, I am unlikely to starve, because I have for now a couple jobs and other investments that I can fall back on. But, since I am getting even more deeply invested into Splinterlands assets, it is definitely going to smart if things all go sideways.

You can't eat zeroes and ones.
You can eat pussy.

Unfortunately, mine is a bush of zeroes and ones.

That is definitely the goal and mission to have others sources as backup if one is not producing the actually result as expected.

I haven't been able to trust on NFTs yet. Most of them come scam to me. It seems like some people invest in them with relatively much amount to drag others into that uncertainty. In today's world, it is not difficult to fool people.

I think you shouldn't trust almost all NFTs on OpenSea. The percentage of NFTs on OpenSea/Rarible, etc that have something wrong is huge. That said... the NFTs bought on the Splinterlands site are all legitimate and some are as cheap as $0.02 USD.

I assume most are just scams or poorly thought out cut and paste jobs of others "projects"

Other than the Splinterlands ones, I haven't bought any in the hope for gain.

Everything comes with a price, the way you plan your goals matters a lot. If you are going for the pussy kitty, you obviously had something in mind what would you achieve of it having now or then.
Irony is that many new crypto investors do not think of research, they only see green pumps and then what comes next regret to earn.

market prices are a bit meaningless for most of crypto - they become more important when there are actual functioning businesses built with them that have products, services and customers that aren't just speculating on the ups and downs.

It is like saying these are stocks/equities with different market values.

You statement is very befitting to the current crypto market, most of the coins have no real life utility available, just pump and dump.

I love my Kitty and will eventually Max it out. I really wish I was here and paying attention with Untamed. So many awesome cards from that set.

Untamed was before my time, but I should have probably had a better look when I did start, as I think it was a fair bit cheaper a year ago :)

I remember looking at all the packs for Dice & Untamed and buying 0. Dumb.

Regarding Twitter, I think that the step that Musk took to buy all the company’s shares is bold. He is trying to introduce payment with digital currencies in the platform’s services. Do you not find it an important step? this is the true meaning of trying something different

Do you have a source for his intentions there? I haven't seen anything like that and I've been following it moderately closely.

After buying 10% of Twitter shares, he now wants to buy Twitter completely with an offer of more than $40 billion. You can see it on YouTube or by simple search

This doesn't talk about what he would plan to add to it.

He might introduce something, but unless it is actually decentralized, it doesn't change anything much at this point.

Well this was highly disgusting amusing.
The stats on OpenSea are honestly super disturbing... from memory it was like 80% of all transactions are wash trading, 60% have copyright abuses, etc etc... no wonder the greater population hates NFTs right now.

People who don't know read the hype and either buy or find it ridiculous - those that have some idea know the scams and the risks of trading in them.

One of the most expensive things in life is pussy! It will rope you in and keep you locked in for life!

I never got any of the kitty cards sadly, not even a 1. I’ve still got my other ones that I don’t use rented out like a level 1 legendary life and stuff but didn’t get lucky with a kitty. Made up for it with my gold Quix but as soon as I bought a second one for 240$ the price has come down a bit. Don’t know if I’m going to buy another one or not, or two to get it maxed but it would be cool to dream lol. I don’t have the HBD funds coming in to invest in another one and keep saving so maybe I’ll stop here. Famous last words :D

I need to stack more DEC for the rest of the airdrop but these damn cards I also need to buy! Quite the conundrum but I’m hoping to get to like 35k or potentially 40k by the time the airdrop finishes.

Do you know if after the airdrop finished do we continue to earn staking rewards? I think it would be cool to but don’t know.

This is probably among the cheapest quality pussy out there tbh.

Some of the cards I have bought are 1/10th of the price or less now!! :D

I think we earn staking rewards, but the airdrop to VC will stop at the end of April, so I think the emissions will be slower. not sure.

Lol you are terrible at crude sarcasm...😆

That said, who wouldn't want to pay for a good busy down the line? I doubt the cards lose their value because as you put it, we're not necessarily going in blindly here.

I know!! :D

There will be fluctuations on the cards, but hopefully at least cards like this will hold their value and won't be replaced too fast :)

Plots will be good too, especially for diamond and champion where the little boosts will make a difference, I think. Tell me! 100 days left. I was thinking that maybe is better to sell vouchers for SPS, maybe it is cheaper in the end, for the validators. I have no funds for 1st round, I go for second.
