How's the bigger deck?
I didn't have any decent pictures for a Splinterlands post - so this one will have to do.
It isn't quite the end of the season yet, but I have stopped playing, finishing in Diamond League 2. This isn't the first time I have made it to D2, but it is the first time I have actually played it and even held my own. I even came close to upping it into D1 but I caught a bad run and in about 5 games, lost 180 points. I completed the quest today, played for a bit to see how it went, realized I am not going to make it and - stopped.
I have opened all of my 1300 presale packs and am rocking some decent cards, but my summoners are lacking. However, I didn't have to rent too much (only about 5 cards) to stay competitive in the league, though I would have to have a fair bit more to be able to progress. One buff I am experimenting with is "amplify" - it is a killer with some rule sets and cards - like Lord A - *if only I owned one.
The value of the cards in general have decreased rapidly and I suspect they will decrease more as more packs are opened, also, the rental markets are well down and will likely take a year to recover, unless there is a massive influx of new players willing to rent. This is a good thing for the game though and hopefully there are going to be more players actually playing the game, rather than just renting their cards out.
I am still planning on getting another round of cards and am even thinking of going with another 4000 or so, but unsure - I have my credits already for this - but I suspect that with the prices of the markets currently depressed, they aren't as likely to sell out that fast, as people start to look to "save" some value. However, it is still a month away from the open sale and this is crypto - a lot can change in a month.
What I do hope though is that there are more people enjoying playing and, taking advantage of picking up their own cards on the markets so they don't have to rent everything. It often makes sense to rent of course, but at the same time, I like to encourage ownership and if there is that explosion of players to come, there will be many people lamenting not picking up a few cards here and there so they only have to supplement with rentals, rather than rely heavily.
What I am interested in is hearing how people have been going playing with and against the Chaos deck and if they have felt there are any surprises. Some of these cards are incredibly strong and I am looking forward to seeing what the next drop cards are going to be, following on from Doctor Blight. I will pick up some more voucher packs too - to see if I can get a few more of the drop cards.
right, I am going to head to bed, as it is nearing 2am, but I promise to get back to this in the morning and I really hope to hear from especially the lower league players to find out how they are coping now with new cards in their rotation.
Have a great End of Season!

That was not too bad after all, I see you were proactive in the quest and you stop when it was necessary, that is what makes it a good one, to be play on another day, winners don't quit.
Have a nice time sleeping 🤗
I have a lv3 lord A and amplify works nicely
Yeah, it is great. It works well with failed summoner combined with mylor too :) I have Mylor, but only a L4 failed summoner unfortunately. I have to rent these kinds of cards.
Haha..😀 Its little annoying when we loose few battles before touch the peak of the leavel.
Yes - I was 40 points or something from moving into D1 - very annoying. :)
Amplify is going to be clutch of a skill to have! I’m really hoping to snag a bunch of the amplify cards and hold them as investments even though they annoy me! Lol.
My absolute favorite card has been doctor blight level 3! It’s kept me from losing several battles so far and has really done wonders for my deck. I bought them at high prices sadly but better to get them than not. I’m also happy I got a spare one to rent or sell in 6 months, see where the markets are at for that one.
My battles have gone pretty well, I was 6 points away from diamond 2 and had a shitty streak, now I’m halfway back to gold 1. Hoping I can regain that ground tomorrow without too much fuss, I haven’t finished a season at diamond 3 in ages I don’t want to start now lol.
My guild mates who are in bronze and silver are really doing well! One of the things that’s helped them a lot is brawl. We’ve been able to win a lot of brawls or get second place so they have the gladiator cards that boost their power, getting them into higher leagues and then more rewards. It’s been a nice change for them, some afforded a pack or two instead of renting! We had a nice giveaway and sent 9 people a pack each to give em a little boost.
I bought a neutral with it last night - but I also like the legendary for earth.
It has been great. I am still learning with it though. one of the things I have to remember is that it can't be targeted, so have to think about what goes next to it :)
A few weeks ago, that was my best result!
This is great to hear. I really think that (depending on lie circumstances) buying a few packs will make difference, especially if combined with a little luck :)
With new cards in rotation. The win rate has become balanced and play strategic. Made it to Gold league for the first time, picked up a bunch of cheap cards into silver and realised it's not about the money, but I enjoy the game if the money comes well and good, but growing in the game and understanding its economy is more thrilling for now
Brilliant - congrats!
It is an interesting game from this respect - very complex! :D
CLICKBAIT XD
I keep forgetting to play (there is a point in the morning where I'll play, and I actually have the mobile app if all else fails and I don't feel like getting out of bed, but I keep forgetting I have the app because I prefer to play on the big rig, and then I don't because I'm focusing more on getting other stuff done at the time and still somehow not managing to get anything done despite doing a lot).
Some of the Chaos cards that have been popping up seem pretty cool. I'm otherwise just getting steamrolled about as much as I usually am and the only thing that's really affected gameplay is same as with any other time sets have come up, I have to actually look at the cards and think about what I'm doing instead of just grabbing stuff that I know works most of the time XD
I tried!
I wonder if there is a difference in win/loss or cards played between the two. I don't like doing anything on the phone.
Yep. I have trouble finding what I am going to play now - but I am trying to experiment with cards too, rather than just use my defaults. I am trying to throw a few chaos cards into each round to see what effect it has.
Wow, your going deeeeep on this Splinterlands deck now, Interesting! How many totems and land plots do you own?
Not sure what totems are - but I only have a few plots - 5 or 8. I didn't know anything about the game when they were released and when i first started, so didn't buy.
I see, Totems will span a new type of In-Game asset within the new battle systems. Like potions, but for single battles and players mint them via their totems. They can be traded on the Hive-Engine for some time already.
and let me invite you to a round of !BEER & !PIZZA while we have this chat.

Have you stopped playing Splinterlands? I think you said you would be renting your cards in the end.
just for the last day :) I have rented out what I don't need for points :)
Going pretty smooth throw lower Silver. In fact, my rating would be enough for Gold right now but I also need collection power I am unwilling to buy as of now. The Silver threshold is where my current cap lies and that's that. For now.
Win rate has increased a lot since the new edition since I was able to snatch good Beta cards and some old summoners, knowing that they shall go out of the Free To Play list. And I am able to keep some of the old meta into the new meta which is obviously a win.
New cards are pretty strong in, in general, but of course, they cannot 100 % replace the power that was.
My results are about the same as in past few seasons- I will finish in gold 3. to do that I just need 2.359 power so I will rent something. In packs I got a few rare golden cards but no golden legendaries yet...shame. Well maybe this season rewards will be better.

First time I haven't made Champion in a long time. Only a handful of players in Champ 1; so all the easy opponents are under me. Maybe next season.
Gotta say, I'm fixated on the fiends. I'm grabbing them in gold foil when they're cheap.
