Rebel at Heart

I am ready.

I don't know if I should be ready, but I am ready nonetheless.

Rebellion

/rɪˈbɛljən/

image.png

an act of armed resistance to an established government or leader.

the action or process of resisting authority, control, or convention.

It is the second definition that resonates with me for being in crypto - and it is the last word that describes the approach - convention. Or its opposite.

Unconventional

/ˌʌnkənˈvɛnʃən(ə)l/

not based on or conforming to what is generally done or believed.

Let's face it - compared to the average, we are mostly outliers here on Hive, aren't we? The average would judge us insane. Yet, are we?

Only time will tell.

But how crazy is it to believe that in order to have control over our lives, we need to take responsibility for our actions. And in order to do that, we need to have ownership of our resources. It is only when we have ownership that we are able to direct our actions, yet even without, we are still accountable for our outcomes.

We can play the blame game.

But who does that help? That is the play for the weak. And the politicians. If we believe that politicians are crooked, why would we want to behave like them? Even worse, behave like them without the benefits they receive.

One of the many things I have learned in crypto that has changed my behavior, is the importance of ownership. It can take many forms and comes in various structures, but if we want a better experience across the globe, we have to encourage ownership of our individual worlds.

Being free is an impossibility. As soon as freedom is gained, responsibility cages us again.

But isn't it better to take responsibility of our own actions, rather than pay the consequences of the actions of others? Especially since their actions don't have our interests in mind at all - let alone our wellbeing. The power grab by the few isn't to make the world a better place, it is to make the world a better place for some.

Not the majority.

It is about ramping up exclusion, by weaponizing "who we are" to divide and conquer. While we spend our resources fighting over the irrelevant, those same resources are being pooled into the controlling pockets and used to divide the cage, and separate us along another line. We fight against each other, without realizing that we are all in this together, all playthings of the same masters, all slaves.

The Rebellion.

It is coming.

You can feel it, can't you? The economy fracturing. The world breaking under the pressure of gross mismanagement and greed.

Nature always survives - but nothing else always survives nature.

Every empire fails. And therefore, every rebellion fails too.

Just zoom out far enough.

We will fail too. But instead of life being meaningless, this gives us the chance to make our life our own. The inevitable end is predetermined, but how we get there is up to us. But, if we aren't willing to take responsibility, the journey becomes robotic, code-driven, controlled. We become slaves to the process, instead of agents choosing our path to the eternal darkness.

We all end up in the same place.
That doesn't mean we all lived equally.

The person who never dared to fly close to the sun, died the same as Icarus. Is it better to make a free decision and die after a moment of brilliance, or live a dull life following the rules of a slave?

Rebels always have a cause.

But what is their effect?

I am ready.

One of the many things I have learned in crypto that has changed my behavior, is the importance of ownership.

It seems like it has changed a lot of people too, Mr. @tarazkp.
Ownership has encouraged people to act fully on their own and strengthened their influence. Some people who have great freedom of ownership also like to encourage others to act in the direction of having ownership.

Unfortunately, in many cases, those who have large holdings tend to be greedy to further enlarge their holdings towards unlimited ownership and enslave others.
Those who have the mind and courage will protest, but others will put up resistance, and for those who enslave, call it rebellion.
Those of us who rebel never say we are rebels, right?

Eventually, all wealthy collapse - everything ends in revolution.

We can certainly see the seeds of change. Had the war in Ukraine happened 25 years ago, we would have been propagandized into participating and likely would have led to another “world war” type event. I think even this situation in the Middle East isn’t turning out the way the warmongers are hoping. People are sick of war, sick of status quo and rebelling. I hope that it brings us to a better state but only time will tell. We are certainly decentralizing so much that it’s hard for monopolies to pop up which is a good thing for us all. Competition is what fuels innovation!

I’m not excited about the pack prices for rebellion.. I wanted to get more but I’m going to at least get what I can afford which is better than nothing! Hoping to get some benefit for the early rewards.

Perhaps. But I think that the world is very much involved - the spoils of war, without having to actually participate directly. War via proxy.

I think even this situation in the Middle East isn’t turning out the way the warmongers are hoping

There is some pushback at least. The entire event going on there is a mess however.

Hoping to get some benefit for the early rewards.

This is going to be an interesting mechanism. "supposedly" the staked cards are still playable, but might not be rentable. That is good for players and sets up a mechanism for renting prices to increase on these cards, but at the tradeoff of missing rewards and bonus cards.

Being free is an impossibility. As soon as freedom is gained, responsibility cages us again.

I disagree with this. We are all free, but we choose to be caged in by laws and conventions that are imposed on us. We don't have to comply. There could be consequences, but we still do not have to comply. And self chosen responsibilities are not cages - we can choose to renege, or we can joyfully assume those responsibilities.

We fight against each other, without realizing that we are all in this together, all playthings of the same masters, all slaves.

This I 100% agree with. If we allow anyone or thing to be our master, we can be divided from others. We've seen this happening in black and white of late. The recent events are continuations. Your fellow human beings are not the enemy, as much as our politicians would have us believe. Politicians, though. They are doing the work of some devil which thrives on terror.

It is coming, and I am as ready as I could be. See you at the front, which could be a battle for our minds. Think for yourself! Believe no one else! A few days ago I felt this was a nicety, but now I feel urgency.

May we all have deep and restful sleeps this night, and wake tomorrow resolved to be true to ourselves, not to our masters.

There are natural laws too. Unbreakable ones. However, even that aside, as soon as we have freedom, we will create our own laws. Even the rule of "being free" is binds our behavior.

Politicians, though. They are doing the work of some devil which thrives on terror.

Doing the work of the economy. It is all about power.

A few days ago I felt this was a nicety, but now I feel urgency.

I don't think you are the only one. A lot of people seem to be cracking under the pressure of life at the moment and they feel it building each day.

It is up to us to change and I do think we should be responsible to an extent. Hive and blockchain can make things more decentralized but at some point, it requires people too. People are still stuck on those web2 platforms and there are a lot of people just eating up the narrative.

I don't really think I am ready for Rebellion and I tend to think that it's coming out a bit too early. There is still land that should be coming out soon and I just don't think people have the funds for rebellion. I am just wondering whether or not the company is so strapped for cash though. It makes me wonder because it makes me worry about the sustainability of the company and the game.

A lot of crypto people too. Most of the "famous" ones, are shilling on the centralized platform for fame, not to actually build awareness around blockchain and crypto.

and I tend to think that it's coming out a bit too early.

Me too. RW still hasn't gone. This is a way to raise funds though I guess.

I like how you combined the upcoming Rebellion release with your usual thought provoking posts. But for now, I'll be focusing on the SPL aspect of it. Everyone seems to be excited and gearing up for Rebellion. It's been a while since people in discord have been bullish on the game. The card prices and SPS are going down, but DEC and Vouchers have been increasing a lot [DEC is now above 0.9]. From what I've read, people are burning cards for DEC, and some are even burning SPS. I am hoping it is the start of the Bull for SPL.

I normally try to add something different to the Splinterlands normal content. Seeing another battle or "daily reward" post doesn't help anyone.

Seems some people have been getting a bit of SPS on BSC at least. Seems to be up a little over the last 24h.

From what I've read, people are burning cards for DEC

Yeah. I wonder what cards they are burning. Would be interesting to see!

Yeah. I wonder what cards they are burning. Would be interesting to see!

From the posts I've seen in discord, they seem to be burning the latest reward cards; from common to epic. We have generated more DEC than burned since yesterday, and it only happens during EOS before. So a lot of cards are being burned.

I have never burned a card. Then again, I have only ever sold one I think!

Neither have I. From what I've read, they are still losing a bit from it. It's either bot farms are using this time to cash out [but the price of DEC increasing shows this shouldn't the case], or people are really bullish on RB and want to get packs, but don't want to put fiat in.

Because I have never done it, I forget that some people will burn cards!

I am so excited about Rebellion even though I am not playing Splinterlands at the moment but I'm happy for players and I see it as more opportunity to earn from the game
Keep it up!

Dear @tarazkp !
I agree with you!
I want to fly freely like Icarus and then die!

HAHAHA - it's so true!

Hmm the launch is not a friendly timing for the folks in Asia but we will see how it goes. I guess there's always the secondary market too.

It is about ramping up exclusion

The amount of times my partner, my family, and my friends have given me shit about being the only Android mobile user in the group is insane! Don't they realize it is APPLE doing the exclusion?! I guess if you are part of the "in" crowd, exclusion doesn't fit the narrative.

As for Rebellion, my original thought was to just shop for what I needed on the secondary market. But the more I thought about the structure of the Rebellion sale, as well as the fiscal needs of the company, I decided against my best interests to get in on the pre-sale action.

I did what I could to free up some in-game capital. I have no ability to bring in outside funds because there ARE NO FUNDS (remember my DTI is UNDEFINED)! I sold a decent chunk of cards (something I had never done before) and I even burned some reward cards that had bids below the burn value. I cleaned out a large chunk of my HIVE:VOUCHER LP. In the end, I was able to clear up around 1M DEC to be able to buy 261 BASE packs for an even 300 packs after the bonus is added in.

I would have really liked to be able to get to 1150 total packs to guarantee me a maxed copy of both of the airdrops, but now that I see you bought 2300 packs -- maybe I can just buy the extra max copies off of you? What do ya say mate?!
