I thought I’d give it a shot and publish a weekly report of what’s been going on during this last week of Splinterland gaming. I often find myself reading battle reports, weekly reports and seasonal reports from other players, and I find that interesting myself. Hopefully it’ll be a bit interesting for you.

Loot Chest Rewards

I usually seem to be a player with bad luck in all things random. So far I’ve only ever received one card, a Pelacor Mercenary, from any season rewards or daily reward chest.

This week offered a break from that! Among all the Potions and Credits, I pulled a Gargoya Lion. This is quite a basic card, if not possibly the most basic card, but any card will increase my Power and right now that’s my goal.

Starting to feel like I’m sitting on a mountain of Potions. Though, if I choose to invest in a few Chaos Legion packs and if I choose to open them, the potions will come in handy.

Giveaway Gifts

On Wednesday I received a wonderful Splinterlands gift from winning in a giveaway hosted by @kryptodenno.

I got my very own Magma Troll. I do know that this card is available from the free starter set, but I’ll always choose to be an owner whenever I can. And I use this card quite a lot for my Fire deck, so acquiring enough to level up the card seems like a good idea.

New Happenings

The Credits received from the Loot Chests are quite nice in a way though. I used some of the received credits and some other spare credits to buy some low cost cards to increase my Power. When it comes to Rating, I’ve reached above 1300. That’s well enough to get me into Bronze I, but the Power keeps me in Bronze III.

So I decided to invest in a few more card to get into Bronze II. I decided to get a Gold Foil Pelacor Mercenary, mainly to get that extra Power from it being a Gold Foil card. I also got a Sea Genie to get an extra high mana cap option for my Water caster deck.

Last card I bought was the Wood Nymph. I’m thinking about renting or possibly buying Mylor Crowling to try my hands at a Thorns based Earth deck for my not-that-far-away push into Silver. But first there’s Bronze I to reach.

Though, regarding the 5000 Power requirement to get into Bronze I, I have started to accept that I need to rent a few cards, just to be able to hit that power level. Sure, I could play the slow game and keep grinding for months and months, but I don’t feel like doing the slow play right now.

My long term play with accumulating lots of cards, many of which I’ll have multiple copies or simply never personally use, is to start doing giveaways here on Hive. This is a bit down ways on the Roadmap, though. Also, if I happen to come across some half decently valued cards, I might start renting out them, as a way to earn a bit extra on my assets.
