Hence the beginning of this post. I am writing this post to ensure myself of several things:

• What is #ECR?
• How much it replenishes per time unit?
• How much exactly is its reduction in battle.
• Will winning or losing determine amount of ECR reduction?

ECR stands for Enery Capture Rate, and it's presented in percentage form. Basically, 100% ECR means you will get the full amount of your 'eligible' Dark Energy Crystals from your battle (if you win of course).

Based on the literature (FAQ Page), In order to prevent bots or players who can play 24/7 from earning an outsized porition of the DEC reward pool, the DEC that can be earned with each win is limited by the player's Energy Capture Rate. The ECR starts at 100% for all players and is reduced by 1% after each Ranked battle played. The amount of DEC earned for a win is multiplied by the player's current ECR, so if a player's ECR is at 50% then they will earn exactly half of the DEC that they would have if their ECR was at 100%. Each player's ECR automatically regenerates over time at a rate of 25% per day.

In case you haven't know, DEC is the official in-game currency in @Splinterlands. You can earn them in various different ways in the game and they can be used to purchase all sorts of different items and boosts that can help you rise to the top of the leaderboard!

Now here comes the data. I noticed that every battle did not cost me 1% ECR reduction. So to proof my skepticism, I tried to gather data from my 12 (twelve) consecutive battles and put them in a Spreadsheet, which I copied below:

Time Start is when I clocked when I noted down the Start ECR numbers before each battle.

Time End is when I clocked when I noted down the End ECR numbers after each battle.

Time Diff. = Time End - Time Start

ECR Recovery / min = 25% / 24h / 60min = 0.0174% / min

ECR Recovery = Time Difference x ECR Recovery / min

Battle ECR Reduction = End ECR - Start ECR

Battle Result shows whether I won or lost at each battle.

So as you can see from above data (I know it's just a 12 battles data, but hey, we should start from something, right?), I have an average of -0.52% for each battle, no matter if I'm winning or I'm losing. This is way better than the -1% stated in the FAQ Page.

I won't complain about this, but maybe, just maybe, @Splinterlands should revise the text in the FAQ Page?
