First Post : Why would anyone pay for vouchers???

I've been playing this game for about a year and love it but now that vouchers are available for the Chaos expansion set it seems that people are going crazy.

With my 5000 SPS that are staked I'm likely to get about 40 vouchers over the next month. I was contemplating buying 10 vouchers so I can get my hands on 50 packs guaranteed.

Then I looked at the price. $25 for a voucher to buy a $4 pack. What??? Why???

For those with deep pockets who are going for the 1000 pack presale bonuses and guaranteed Gold foils it might make sense. For those DEC whales who need those premier power cards in gold foils to stay competitive in the Champion leagues perhaps it makes sense.

However, for the rest of us why not sell those vouchers for the $25 and buy the cards we need on the resale market? I'm solidly Silver tier so I don't need that many cards. If I sit on $1,000 from selling all my vouchers I can pick and choose what works best for my battle lines. Overall I'll make for a solid competitor in Silver and be happy there.

If I spend big $$$ on vouchers and get 50 packs I'll be guaranteed 200 common cards and 50 rares with a couple of epic or maybe legendary thrown in. No guarantees they will be what I need or want.

Then again, once the remain 9,000,000 card packs come out maybe I can spend that $1000 to buy 250 packs. Sure I don't get the early adopter bonus but way better chance of picking up some premium cards that way.

So... For all of you who are scrapping to get those vouchers at any cost I would like to say Thank-You! My warchest for purchasing much needed cards on the market is getting fatter by the day.

Happy hunting everyone.

All about supply and demand, no? I think, for now, it's a rush. There's not a lot of tokens to go around as there are likely several whales holding a good amount. Some folks will want to hold enough to buy packs in the pre-sale for the special drops later on. This sucks for the newbs (of which I am), but oh well. My biggest concern is what happens when the pre-sale is done and the general sale starts? Can the servers handle the load? There will be 14M packs (15M-1M presale). I have my eye on 25-50 packs, but you just know there will be people buying up K's of packs. And Splinterlands is only growing in user base. Imagine how many new people will be waiting...

Guess we'll find out soon. In the meantime, if the voucher prices get to normal (say $5), then yeah, I'll probably jump, but I 100% agree. $25 is a bit insane, but they didn't call it Chaos Legion for nothing.
