[ Disintegrator ] - Share Your Battle! Weekly Challenge

avatar

My first challenge of the week!
Theme and card of the week is Disintegrator.

Thoughts: This is an interesting card as its usage seems situational and when it does get played, it will show a lot of impact. For me, I can only really think of 2 decks I might I use it in. Before the Chaos Legion update, I used Molten Ogre (who has the same ability) in one of those 2 decks I mentioned and it usually brought me high percentages of win rate.

I think this challenge is pretty good to have as this card by itself seems to depict what playstyle you would have to use or what decks would you use it against. Really curious to see if other players would show me other forms of usage in battle.

Team Composition

Role: Summoner

A generally great summoner to be used. With a (+1) to melee attack and (+1) to health, it is versatile and often the favoured choice over Pyre, its other free Fire summoner.

Choosing Tarsa to combine with Disintegrator will give me a (+2) melee attack advantage over the opponent.

Role: Tank

The first in position and pretty much the mainstream tank you will see from Fire decks. With 'okay' health and 2 armour, along with the Shield ability, it is already a good tank, especially against melee and ranged attackers.

With 3 melee damage, it will further gain a (+1) boost from Tarsa, making it a scary foe.

Role: Debuff (Demoralize)

The card of the week and a debuffer. With its ability 'Demoralize', it is really good if you know the opponent likes playing melee attack decks (likely Fire or Water, etc.)

Played it second as I would want to make more use of its attack and health, rather than leaving it hiding away from contact.

Role: Gap

A fodder card which you can use as a gap. Use it to block an attack, great if its from an Opportunity attack.

Role: Damage Dealer, Opportunity

Probably the favourite card of any Fire deck players. Played alongside Tarsa, it hits with 3 damage - probably hitting the enemy damage dealers.

At such a cheap cost, you would be able to wreak havoc in the enemy back lines and possibly win the round when the enemy do not pay attention to it.

Role: Damage Dealer, Backline Hitter (Sneak)

This is a good card in my opinion. With pretty good all around stats along with the Sneak ability, if not dealt with quickly, it will create havoc and clear out the backline on the opposing team.

Placed it at the back to tank the backstabs and also hopefully stay alive to deal critical damage to the opposing team.

Strategy Talk

Looking at the opponent's history, I noticed him playing ALL Water decks, hence I knew it was safe enough to whip out the Disintegrator which, played with Tarsa, gives me 2 melee attack advantage over the enemy melee deck.

In this battle, I tried to focus on laying down as many backline hitters while trying to keep them alive as long as possible. I had enough mana cost to pull out the Fire core trio (Living Lava, Serpentine Spy, Tenyii Striker) and the card of the week, so it worked out for me.

While I had triumphed today, Disintegrator did not put out as much of use as I had expected, especially when facing a Water deck. As the enemy team did not put out as many melee attackers as I had expected, the card's impact were not that significant in this battle. Although, it did reduce Serpent of Eld's attack which allowed Living Lava to live a tad longer.

I figured my placements were done pretty well this time around. I placed it second from the front as I wanted to make more use of its attack and health stats. I would have preferred my backline stay alive longer to win the battle. Typically you would want the card to be around 2nd or 3rd in the lineup, but ultimately it depends on your other cards.

Thanks for reading!

It was fun to theorise with an impactful card and also play the card I don't usually play.

We keep on going. Cheers.

Great strategy. Tenyii Striker and Serpentine Soldier's Sneak and Opportunity attacks are devastating.
