SHARE YOUR BATTLE WEEKLY CHALLENGE! šVenari Knifer
Hello there awesome Splinterlands fans and welcome to my entry for the Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge. The theme monster for this week is none other than the fierce Venari Knifer.
The Venari Knifer is a common Earth monster. These creatures are ruthless monsters driven by their love for money and gold. They are highly skilled assassins that would take any job from anyone willing to pay the best price. As masters of their craft, these monsters use a special device called the Knifer Rig to complete their missions. Thanks to these Knifer Rigs, which consist of sharp blades powered by magic and advanced tech, the Venari Knifers have a very high success rate and therefore are a force to be reckoned with. Always watch your back in the dark because there might just be a price tag for your head.
Here are some stats of the monster's card;
The Venari Knifer is really cool from the get-go. From level 1, this monster has the Thorns ability with the Backfire ability added to it at level 6. At level two it gains an extra speed giving it a greater chance of attacking first. At level 3, the Venari Knifer gains an extra attack but loses one health which it regains at level 4. It adds another health at level 5 but loses it again at level 6 when it gains the Backfire Ability. At level 7 though, this monster regains the lost extra health and then an extra speed at level 8. It reaches its maximum health at level 9 and its maximum attack at level 10.
Combat Rules |
---|
For this battle, there were no modifications to the standard gameplay. The Mana Cap was 29 and all the splinters were playable. I went ahead and chose to play with the Earth splinter.
SUMMONER | |
---|---|
NAME | OBSIDIAN |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | CHAOS LEGION |
RARITY | RARE |
MANA COST | 4 |
BUFFS | +1 MAGIC ATTACK |
Before this challenge, I hadn't used Obsidian before but I decided to try her out because I got the card from a Chaos Legion pack. Also, Earth has some pretty neat magic monsters and Obsidian can buff them up for extra damage.
MONSTER 1 | |
---|---|
NAME | UNICORN MUSTANG |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | UNTAMED |
RARITY | RARE |
MANA COST | 8 |
ATTACK | 3X MELEE ATTACK |
SPEED | 4X |
HEALTH | 10X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | VOID |
A couple of people would place the Venari Knifer in the first position but I decided not to do that. With the Mana Cap at 28, I chose to place this elegant monster in the first position. With a 10x health and the void ability, this monster should hold well in the first position. Also, with its speed at 4 and damage at 3x, this monster would have a chance of attacking early and dealing a lot of damage to the enemy right from the beginning.
MONSTER 2 | |
---|---|
NAME | VENARI KNIFER |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | CHAOS LEGION |
RARITY | COMMON |
MANA COST | 6 |
ATTACK | 2X MELEE ATTACK |
SPEED | 4X |
HEALTH | 7X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | THORNS |
And now for the star of the show. With health at 7, the Venari Knifer should be able to hold out if the enemy uses a monster with a Blast ability or any other ability that can affect the second position. If by any chance that the Unicorn Mustang does not survive, this monster should be able to quickly do some damage either on it's own or if it gets hit with a melee attack thanks to its thorns.
MONSTER 3 | |
---|---|
NAME | GOBLIN THIEF |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | UNTAMED |
RARITY | COMMON |
MANA COST | 4 |
ATTACK | 2X MELEE ATTACK |
SPEED | 2X |
HEALTH | 3X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | SNEAK |
In the third position is this sneaky little devil. Many people may underestimate this monster but that is when they meet their downfall. With the sneak ability and Melee Attack at 2x, this little dude should be able to take out any monsters at the back of the enemy's lineup who stand as a threat against his allies.
MONSTER 4 | |
---|---|
NAME | KHMER PRINCESS |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | UNTAMED |
RARITY | RARE |
MANA COST | 2 |
ATTACK | 1X MAGIC ATTACK |
SPEED | 1X |
HEALTH | 2X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | NONE AT LVL 1 |
This monster was the last one I chose but I decided to place her in the fourth position so she doesn't get taken out by a faster monster with a sneak ability. If she survives at the end of the first round at least, she would do some real damage to the first monster especially after getting a buff from Obsidian.
MONSTER 5 | |
---|---|
NAME | REGAL PERYTON |
SPLINTER | EARTH |
EDITION | CHAOS LEGION |
RARITY | RARE |
MANA COST | 5 |
ATTACK | 1X MAGIC ATTACK |
SPEED | 5X |
HEALTH | 6X |
TOUGHNESS | 0 |
ABILITIES | FLYING |
The Regal Peryton would hold the last line. With speed at 5, this monster has a chance of attacking very early in the match bypassing any toughness. Also at the last position and with the flying ability, it can evade any melee or range attack monster with a sneak ability. If it gets hit, it should be able to hold on a little longer with its 6x health.

Round 2:

- With the enemy's Scavo Hireling on the frontline helpless, my Unicorn Mustang finishes him off, x3 damage, 0 health remaining.
- The enemy's Pelacor Arbalest throws at my Unicorn Mustang, misses the first time but hits the second, x3 damage, 4 health remaining.
- The enemy's Portal Spinner throws at my Venari Knifer, x3 damage, 4 health remaining.
- My Goblin Thief strikes the enemy's Portal Spinner, x2 damage, 1 health remaining.
- Khmer Princess fires at the enemy's Stitch Leach, x2 damage, 1 health remaining.
- The enemy's Stitch Leach hits my Unicorn Mustang, x2 damage, 2 health remaining.
Final Round:
- Regal Peryton fires at the pesky Stitch Leach, x2 damage, 0 health remaining.
- The mighty Unicorn Mustang tramples on the enemy's Pelacor Arbalest, x3 damage, 0 health remaining.
- Now in the first position, the enemy's range monster, Portal Spinner, stands helpless as the Goblin Thief gives the final blow, x2 damage, 0 health remaining, DEFEATED!
Victory!
All alone, the "mighty" General Sloan escapes into the depth of night. Despite the damage, my monsters stand tall in victory.

Did My Strategy Work?
Absolutely! Placing Unicorn Mustang in the first position was a good idea. Despite all the damage, it was able to hold out until the end. Also, my decision to place Regal Peryton at the last position was great. If I had placed Khmer Princess there instead, the enemy's Stitch Leach would have taken her out with a single blow.
Venari Knifer did not land a blow but her position adjacent to Unicorn Mustang helped. If I had placed Goblin Thief there he would have been defeated when Portal Spinner activated her scattershot ability. In the end, the little Goblin Thief did so much damage to the Portal Spinner and eventually finished her off.
Do I like the Venari Knifer?
With speed at 4, health at 7 and the thorns ability at just level 1, of course I like the Venari Knifer. Even though she did not get to fight in this battle, I have used her in several other battles and won. I just decided to try something different this time by placing her in the second position and it all worked out fine.

Your format is original, but you can improve it much more and vary it. Regarding the writing and your battle is fine, although you can also add some details about the strategy you used to play.
