The Best and "Worst" Fire Summoners | Guild Recruitment!

When I started playing splinterlands I got to know about combos like Llama + Kron and other awesome Earth combos. Just like that, Earth became my favorite Splinter because I used it a lot. However, right now, other splinters are beginning to steal my heart. One of the close contenders is the Fire splinter which I really started to use when Modern was released.

Fire has really good summoners in my opinion ranging from the highly underrated Qid Yuff to the powerful Yodin Zaku. Apart from the very good summoners, the splinter also has really good monsters that can play together to produce the deadliest combos, at least in the lower leagues. Specifically, I want to talk about two summoners which are Yodin and Qid Yuff.

In the two months that I have been playing splinterlands I have been hearing that Yodin Zaku is allegedly the best summoner in the game. I never thought he was that powerful because I always used my Venator Kinjo as a good counter against that pesky blast ability. Even when I would get a Fire focus I would not rent Yodin because I thought he was too expensive to rent and overrated. However, the hype was always still there so I decided to just try out the summoner.

I think Yodin's blast buff is utterly ridiculous. Back when we used to have the Focus spam it was easier to read when an opponent would play Yodin and so counter it. Nowadays your opponent can totally surprise you with a Yodin attack and about 85% of the time, Yodin will win. It's really scary to see someone pull a Yodin on you so I decided I would use this summoner every chance I get.

To increases my chances of winning with Yodin, I like to make sure that my monsters attack first. This is where these two beautiful cards come in;

These monsters are perfect because Yodin increases their range damages and therefore their blast damage. Where these guys really make a difference is with their Swiftness ability which will increase the speed of all the other monsters and also their chances of attacking first. Most times, I can take out multiple monsters before they even get the chance to attack.

Countess Sinash is a very powerful card on her own. When you combine that Opportunity ability with Yodin's blast, she just becomes deadly. Also the fact that she can't be touched at the back can be very frustrating. Speaking of which, the blast can also help to take out monsters with Camouflage if they are beside a monster attacked with opportunity or sneak.

Yodin is, for sure, a very powerful summoner and arguably the most powerful in the game so far. I harnessed his power and spammed it everytime I got the chance. Thanks to this, I was able to get to the top 10 on the leaderboard for the first time;

Yodin is really good but what about Qid Yuff. I've read a couple of blogs and watched some videos on YouTube where people said that they don't like Qid. Considering that this summoner is the second cheapest Dice summoner currently at just $2.86 compared to Mylor that is $16.50, it's clear that there's not much of a demand for him.

But is he really that bad?

Before I started to use Yodin I would only use Tarsa, Pyre or Qid for fire. Pyre and Tarsa are great summoners but I would argue that Qid is also pretty good. The thing is that Fire does not have a lot of magic monsters in modern and shield is an obstacle to melee and range attacks. I've had 1 shield stop a x9 melee attack from Magnor and that was really annoying.

Well, Qid literally makes all your shield worries disappear with his Piercing buff. I really like to use Qid in rulesets like Melee Mayhem and Weak Magic because you can bet to some shields in those cases.

If not for the extra health Tarsa provides, I would have considered getting Qid because Tarsa's extra damage is pretty useless against sield. Not just that but piercing works with all three attack types. To top it off, Qid costs just 3 mana which can make him a great choice in low mana battles.

I think Qid Yuff is underrated but I can't say if he will be valued more in the future. All in all, I really like the fire splinter now. I have alread maxed my Tarsa for Silver and have slowly began to look for cards to purchase. With the next Legendary summoner being from the fire splinter, I am very excited and will make sure I buy it after the price stabilizes at a reasonable level. I hope he will be as strong as Yodin but it's highly unlikely.
