Splinterlands: Duo Heavy Hitting Magic Attack That's Tough To Beat

Welcome to the new week everyone. I've been working on a post for several days but just haven't had time to finish it up. So early this morning I decided to push my way through while sipping coffee in my backyard. Early morning is so nice here this time of year in southern California, it's perfect to work without distractions.
Today I'm doing a Splinterlands post as it's been awhile since I have put one together. But I'm still playing the game when I have time. Today I'm going to focus on a deadly combination I've been using more lately and really enjoying, Ballista Deadshot combined with Barashkukor.

Ballista Deadshot

Ballista Deadshot is one nasty heavy mana card. Best of all it's affordable since it's a common card. It does cost 13 mana so you need a high mana cap to really make use of it, but it starts with a magic attack of five. At level one it has Scattershot hitting random targets on the opposing team. At level three it picks up Dispel so it can remove magic buffs after a successful attack. Finally at level ten it picks up Pinpoint so your allied cards with sneak cannot miss, but it is going to be used with a maxed archon, likely in diamond or champion.
When combined with Lorkus giving it Life Leach this can be one nasty card!

Barashkukor

Barashkukor is a legendary card from the Rebellion era, but still playable in Modern. It's expensive being a legendary and it's mana is 13, so a high mana cap is needed to use it well. It starts off with a magic attack of five and has Fury meaning it does double damage to any taunt card. At level two it picks up Weaken decreasing the health of all enemy cards by one. At level three it picks up Magic Reflect making it a dangerous card against magic teams. At level four it picks up more health, but combined with Lorkus giving it Life Leach this is a dangerous card!

Let's dee the combo in action!
You can see the entire battle here at this link.

This is a battle in Modern with a mana cap of 78, so a lot of options to work with on this one. Especially since the ruleset is the regular one. I love these setups because I can bring in multiple heavy hitters, and my opponent can do the same. It makes it a lot more fun!
I chose Lorkus as my archon as he is a dual death/fire dual summoner. He also let's you give Life Leach and Affliction to two team members. For tank I chose Doomshield Warden followed by Conjurer's Hubris. Now time for the heavy hitters, next I brought in Grove Doomblade and Ballista Deadshot. I then chose to use a healing card, although it's corrupted healing, using Arachne Weaver with last position be filled by a legendary Barashkukor, another heavy hitter. I gave Life Leach and Affliction to my two heavy hitting magic monsters.
My opponent chose to use Dolfor Darflak as summoner and placed Drybone Megalodon as tank. Next up was Grimbardun Fighter followed by Kelan Gaines. Then they brought in Chaos Evoker with the blast ability and ambush, followed by Arachne Weaver and last up Grove Doomblade. Kind of a light team attack wise for the mana, so I was feeling pretty good when I saw it!

Here Ballista Deadshot one shot kills my opponent's Arachne Weaver. Barashkukor had taken out the tank Drybone Megalodon with one shot right before this as well.

By round two things were looking pretty bad for my opponent...

Ballista Deadshot one shot kills Grimbardun Fighter.

And then there was one, I have yet to lose a fighter.

Deadshot Ballista gets the final kill shot. Good game to my opponent! The heavy magic attack just overpowered the opposing team in this match, and that is the beauty of multiple heavy hitters. Most opponent's expect at least one heave hitter, not not two or three. Ballista Deadshot and Barashkukor make for a deadly combo, especially with legendary summoner Lorkus.
If you don't yet play Splinterlands, it is a fun game and free to play in Frontier Mode. So give a try, if you haven't joined in on the fun of playing Splinterlands you can join here: https://splinterlands.com?ref=thebighigg !

I'm a proud member of The Alliance Family!

That is a nasty combo! Great job. I need to pick up Baraskukor for myself
They are still a little pricey, I've been renting because once they go wild the price will drop like and anchor...
Oh dang, those are some heavy hitters. I just finally got things back online this week, but I don't think I am going to finish too well in this season.
I've not been playing enough to be honest, I won't do well either. I do love heavy hitting teams though, they're fun play with and can destroy an opponent quickly.
Glad to hear they are getting things back up and working online at work!
Heavy Hitters , so you Ba..something and another hitter called Ba..something which reminded me of the BaBas which is the nickname of the Barbarians rugby team which is like a charity team full of international players from all over the world and boy oh boy those boys are some bloody heavy hitters!
Great to see you still play and drink coffee in that sunshine lol!
