The one true carry, the Ant Miners!
a story of how the working class took down the mighty mages

Team Lineup

Here was my thought process when deciding what to use and why:

  • What could kill Ant Miners before it gets involved in the fight?
  • What position keeps it out of danger while still maintaining viability for when it's time to unleash its wrath?
  • How to help it scale fast enough while not hindering the rest of the team?

Choosing Drake of Arnak as a summoner helped cover 2 points. It gave it a precious shield so cards like Serpentine Spy, Battering ram, etc dont 1 shot it before my Serpentine spy can help it grow. It also gave it a much needed protection from Pyromancer and Fire elemental so that I can put it behind the main tank, Living Lava. The rest was fairly simple, Serpentine Spy to help the Ants grow, Elemental Fire to weaken and sometimes kill stuff by mistake, and Kobold Miner coz you cant play Ant Miners without the other half of the working class, duh....

In a higher rank with higher lvl cards you'd want to swap the positions of Kobold Miner and Serpentine spy, at 3* Kobold would have 3 hp so he would take a hit or two and Serpentine Spy is much more important to protect coz he feeds our ants, but for the purpose of this fight, Miners needed to stick together! they drew on each other's energy and power and made it through to the other side!

The Fight

How the Battle played out

challenge 2.png

From a first glance you'll notice that our Ant Miners grew! Also the fact that Living Lava is on his last legs. It's a tricky spot but that's where Ant Miners shine, it's the power of the working class, no matter how tough life gets, the working class is always tougher!

challenge 3.png

As you can see, the mighty Living Lava missed and got taken down, but Serpentine Spy immediately took revenge and clearing the stage for our working class heroes to unleash their fury, as long as Serpent of Eld doesnt go super saiyan on me fingers crossed

In the end, they all fell to the might of the miners, leaving the last word, to the working class, as it should be and as a bonus, proving that Fire > Water.

Conclusion

After the battle was done I asked myself 3 questions:

  1. Did the Ant Miners accomplish what I wanted?
  2. Was there better alternatives?
  3. What would I do differently next time?

It was easy to see the answer for the first question, the Ant Miners did do what was expected, and while this may not be the best game to showcase the power of this card, it did show that with the right setup it can be annoying to play against, also, supporting the Ant Miners is like supporting the working class, so it's a no brainer.

As for an alternative, probably not, if I wasnt playing Ant Miners I probably would've went with a different setup but as a 2 mana card, it grew to 5 HP and dealt the killing blow to Serpent of Eld, cant ask for more.

Finally, for next time my approach would be the same. While there might be better summoners and support cards, this felt like the safest approach against most of what could pose danger, and as we all know, Miners who stick together, win together.

Final Thoughts

If you've stuck until this part, you have my gratitude, while it was simple to just post a normal battle from my main account, I felt like it'd be more fun to turn this into a story of simplicity.

Do check my other blog posts! I post a fight review everyday for the more challenging cards on the ladder and ways to think when wanting to come out with a positive result!

I hope you had as much fun reading this as I had writing it, until next time, happy grinding!
