My Splinterlands Blog #55 – A Rushed Season End, Chaos Legion Pre-sale

Welcome to another weekly update on my attempt to challenge the Splinterlands ranked leagues! Initially it was a self challenge, to see how far I could get with the initial set of cards plus whatever I could win. But, that kind of fell apart around week 30 (with the game integrating with the WAX network and users being able to buy and sell cards on Atomic Hub).

As I mentioned last time, I spent a considerable sum of Dark Energy Crystals to pick up an Earth and Water collection of Gold-level cards. Playing in Gold league has been fairly enjoyable, as the cards start to get a lot more abilities. Plus, it's something new for me other than my usual Bronze/Silver play.

I had a wedding to attend the weekend of the season's end, which meant I didn't have quite as much free time to play as I would have liked. I'll get more into the season's end at the end of the article. For now, since I'm trying to rush this out after getting back from said wedding, let's move on to the usual breakdown of the past week!

Daily Quest Rewards:

Daily Quest # 401 - Win 5 with Water. For completing this quest, I got 2 Pelacor Deceivers (common monster), 2 Venari Heatsmiths (common monster), and 339 (2 + 6 + 19 + 312) DEC.

Daily Quest # 402 - Win 5 with Dragon. After finishing this quest, I received 1 Alchemy Potion, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Venari Seedsmith (rare monster), a Uraeus (epic monster), and 19 (2 + 6 + 1 + 10) DEC.

Daily Quest # 403 - Win 5 with Sneak. For completing this daily quest, I got 2 Gold potions, 2 Legendary potions, 20 DEC (12 + 8), a Uraeus, and a Gargoya Lion (common monster).

Daily Quest # 404 - Win 3 with No Neutral. For finishing this daily quest, I received 2 Gold Potions, 2 Legendary potions, 2 Venari Heatsmiths, a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster), and a Gargoya Devil (rare monster).

Daily Quest # 405 - Win 5 with Sneak. For completing this daily quest, I received 3 Gold potions, 2 Pelacor Deceivers, a Djinn Chawla (epic monster), a Pelacor Bandit (common monster), and a Venari Seedsmith.

Daily Quest # 406 - Win 5 with Snipe. For finishing this daily quest, I got a Legendary potion, 7 DEC, a Pelacor Bandit, a Venari Heatsmith, a Pelacor Mercanary, 2 Pelacor Deceivers, and a Gold Foil Pelacor Mercenary!

Daily Quest # 407 - Win 5 with Earth. For finishing this final daily quest, I received 5 Legendary potions, a Gold potion, 13 (5 + 8) DEC, a Venari Heatsmith, and a Pelacor Conjurer.

I decided to go ahead and start opening my Untamed packs again, which worked out pretty well in the first couple.

No summoners, but at least it had two rares.

This was the big money pack, with a Gold Foil common and a new Legendary card!

Tournaments:

Thursday Bronze Blunderbuss, no legendary cards, Untamed set tournament. These have become quite competitive. I did well day one, going 9-2. However, I had a poor showing day two to finish 10-9, coming in 24th place for 30 Splintershard tokens (SPS). This is likely to be the last of these for a while, unless I drop back down to Silver League.

Saturday Clove Silver League tournament: I lasted for a few rounds to come in 18th place for 7 SPS.

Sunday All The Pointy Things Gold tournament: My attempt at a Gold league level tournament did not go well. I went 2-9 on day one, obviously not making day two, coming in 94 place with no prize.

Silvershield Knights Monday Silver tournament: I went 4-7 on the first day, again not making day two. At least it pays out for the top 128, so I still got 15 SPS for coming in 95th place.

Silvershield Knights Wednesday Silver tournament: I did about the same, going 5-6 to not make day two. I got another 15 SPS for coming in 71st place.

Guild Brawls:

Guild Brawl #39, playing Gold foil Bronze, Untamed set only. I had no opponents this round, but at least the guild finished in the top spot for our brawl!

The Rest:

I made one trade, exchanging the max level Ruler of the Sea for a Gold Foil Beta Screaming Banshee and a Level 2 Lord of Fire. I still have a couple extra cards from my set that I should try to sell or trade off. Card prices are way too high for me to be considering putting together max card sets, and this helped improve my card depth a little.

He would be great if I owned a Yodin!

My InvestyGator account didn't have anything too exciting this season, just a Djinn Chwala. The Chaos Legion presale is also going to be starting shortly after the season ends. I should be getting about 5 vouchers a day from all of my holdings, but I may sell some of them to just get cards instead. We'll see what the prices look like on them.

I did make it pretty handily into Diamond III at the end of the season. I think I could have made Diamond II if I had more time to farm rating points in Gold before advancing. Maybe next season!

The amount of seasonal rewards chests in Diamond is hard to fit on a single screen shot.
