Your story shows how complicated friendships can become if one person is dependent on another, or borrows something from the other. You were gracious to lend your clothing in the first place. It's too bad the friendship was never the same, but truly understandable! That occurrence really made me to put boundaries in how I make friends. I don't get to the point where they get close to asking for such and I wouldn't be able to say No.
