Djinn Apprentice: Cheap Fire Magic At It's Finest

The Battle

The Lineup

Let's go over the lineup! Overall we were trying to put some trash in the front for Antoid Platoon, get some sneak kills with Tenyi Striker, and have Djinn Apprentice deal some damage with Antoid Platoon to help take out the front of the line. We put Disintegrator in back to block a sneak play as well as Demoralize the enemy team. Will we take the win?!?

Tarsa

Tarsa is great! I like Tarsa more than Jacek because of her positive stats without the consequences of Jacek. The extra melee damage with fire monsters is helpful as there's always alot of melee in fire. For our Djinn Apprentice though, that extra health makes all the difference since he's a little on the low side when it comes to survival.

Scorch Fiend

Trash in the front to feed the Antoid Platoon with the health gained on death of the fiend. Might've been a little better to have the fiend behind the chicken.

Furious Chicken

He's so furious! If you're putting the chicken in the front or behind your tank as trash, it's typically best in the front so it can absorb that first high speed hit!

Antoid Platoon

Now that we've had the first two monsters feed the platoon, he'll get to the front and carry us home with all the health he gets from those monsters, and hopefully some kills along the way for the enemy team to feed him even more.

Tenyi Striker

Good damage for the mana. We didn't try a multiple sneak play here, but even on his own he can net some kills to fill the Andtoid Platoon with health. Once the platoon is gone, he's got the most health to try to hold down the fort.

Djinn Apprentice

Here's our man. We got him sandwiched into the back line to protect him with his low health. The hope here is he gets some frontline kills while the Tenyi Striker takes the team on from the back. Teamed up with the damage to the enemy tank with the Antoid Platoon, we're doing a reasonable amount of damage for the mana cap.

Disintegrator

Blocking the sneak play and demoralizing the enemy team. Will it be overkill? Would the mana have been better used elsewhere?

Did the Strategy Work??

Let's find out!

Three kills in round 1 help feed the Antoid Platoon, but you can see the writing on the wall. The enemies' Tenyi Striker and Kobold Miner are going to put our lineup to the test!

At the end of round two things are looking bleak. All that sneak is getting the best of us and our Djinn Apprentice is going to be taken out next round.

In round 3 we get taken down to a three on one and then with round 4 comes the loss.

The strategy didn't work this time, the Kobold Miner combined with the Tenyi Striker is a tough combo to beat at this mana cap. We didn't have enough in the back, even with our disintegrator, to give the Djinn Apprentice and the Antoid Platoon enough time to do get the job done.

How about that Djinn Apprentice?

He's a good character. Regardless of what happened this match, 3 magic damage for 5 mana at level 4 can be extremely helpful in the right context. Equalizer is a great ruleset for Djinn Apprentice, it gives that magic damage time to go to work. Back to Basics is another good ruleset for Djinn Apprentice because you can put him in the back and keep raking that 3 magic damage in with no threat of a kill until he gets to the front.
