The People's Guild: December Lineup

december lineup.png

Greetings, Splinterlands!

Welcome to the end of November! As we begin wrapping up the month and start looking ahead to what's next for The People's Guild, its tough not to get excited with the continuing and ever-growing list of Splinterlands community stalwarts we've got teed up to stop by for a chat with us.

We hope you're as pumped about this December lineup as we are!

If you've got any particular questions burning a hole in your keyboard for these upcoming episodes, be sure to comment below - we'll definitely work 'em into the conversation!

Head here to make sure you don't miss these conversations and more from the People's Guild.

Episode 33: A Roguepatton Conversation

episode 33 - YT.png

To kick off the month, we welcome in a fellow YGGer, content creator and podcaster to the show. He frequents some of our favorite YouTube creators' channels - whether hopping on stream wiht them or just stirring up conversation in the live chat with thought-provoking takes on the game or hilarious comments - we welcome @roguepatton to the People's Guild.

Another Splinterlander with deep roots in the physical trading card game-world found his love to be a natural fit for the game once his journey led him to discovering crypto in the summer of 2021. The big draw for Rogue, however, has been the ecosystem - the deflationary nature of our cards, the growth in utility as cards are combined and the liquidity of the full range of in-game assets.

With ambitions of one day competing at the highest levels of the game, Rogue is a tournament regular - most often competing in silver and below, but he found tremendous success at Splinterfest, placing in the Top 16 in the Champions tourney.

A huge proponent for the full gamut of competition, Rogue has his sights set on expanding in-person tournaments and the growing world of E-Sports and, especially, Splinterlands' role in it.

Rogue is a great advocate for the game as he, @damour and a flurry of other YGGers & guests host the fantastic Into the Splinterlands weekly - give it a listen here.

He also makes an excellent follow on Twitter for some great Splinterlands analysis and banter.

Please join us in welcoming RoguePatton to the show!

Episode 34: A Bulldog1205 Conversation

episode 34 - YT.png

Our next guest of the month should be no stranger to any of you Splinterlanders out there.

He's a massive content creator with a YouTube following in excess of 20k subscribers and is one of the biggest Twitter accounts in the game. He's a master strategist and a true student of the game, as evidenced by his regular appearances in Champion league. He's seemingly everywhere on @peakd, Discord and even has his own NFT available on Opensea.

A true advocate for the players, we welcome @bulldog1205 to the People's Guild.

Bulldog started playing Splinterlands in April '21. Originally a content creator for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, having invested about $5k into the game and built up about 7k followers, he found himself banned, with no recourse, for making a video on the cheating problem in the game that EA didn't like.

In search for a new collectible game with quick battles to get involved in, Bulldog was immediately drawn to Splinterlands through the gameplay, the NFTs and the ability to potentially recoup any initial investments. He was quickly embraced by the community, almost overnight becoming the game's biggest content creator before eventually finding himself a role with the company as Community Manager.

By now, we're well aware of the unfortunate loss that was Bulldog as head of our community to the recent lay-off decision, but we're proud to see that this has not deterred him from pursuing his passion. He has continued (maybe even doubled-down on) creating fantastic content on Splinterlands (and other games) with an unwavering sense of integrity, excitement and analysis.

We've been trying to make this one happen for quite some time and we now cannot wait to get Bulldog on the show!

Episode 35: A Brybro27 Conversation

episode 35 - YT.png

We continue the month with yet another big dog in the world of Splinterlands.

Boasting assets that include more than 2,000 plots of land, CP in the millions and a depth of knowledge of the game that sees him competing for the leaderboard in Champion season after season and even led him to hoisting the inaugural Splinterfest tournament belt, we welcome @brybro27 to the People's Guild.

Brybro started playing the game in June of 2021 after reading about Splinterlands in a Reddit post about top play-to-earn games, at a time when Untamed packs were still being sold in the shop. His journey to the top began when he quickly bought a couple hundred packs and ripped them open.

One of the major draws for him was that it was the first game he'd stumbled upon that had a built-in marketplace for the purchase and/or sale of cards & assets. Needless to say, the non-card market is a prime source of excitement in the upcoming development releases to be rolled into production.

Brybro also runs a YouTube channel where he hosts a slew of excellent guests and conversations centered around Splinterlands' land - we expect this to pick up some considerable steam as we edge closer to Land 0.5 here in the next few weeks. Definitely worth a visit!

We look forward to talking all things land, roadmap, tournaments and the year to come.

Episode 36: A Nameless112 Conversation

episode 36 - YT.png

Clocking in as the Christmas episode for 2022, our guest here is yet another fellow YGGer. One of the leaders in the YGG community, he represents the YGG Brawlers proudly in the highest echelons of the game.

We welcome @nameless112 to the show for this one.

You've certainly heard the YGG mentioned in countless townhalls, come across one of the many guild members bearing the YGG banner in battles and brawls and you may have even used a product led by some of the legacy YGG members - special shoutout to Splex, @genepoolchlrn8r and co.

However, what you may not know about YGG is the myriad of benefits that come to guilds & guild members for competing at a high level. We will have just kicked off a new GAP season (Guild Advancement Program) when we run this episode and we've every intention to hear all about this, if not to purely itch our own curiosities, then for the benefit of any listeners that may be considering coming aboard the YGG mothership.

Guild alliances were addressed by @yabapmatt in a recent Splinterlands townhall as a potential in-game development and we're hopeful we'll have heard more come Christmas time. YGG Brawlers, being a guild group currently consisting of 6 guilds, we're keen to hear hypotheticals for YGG's possible utilization of such a feature.

Episode 37: A Foyet Conversation

episode 37 - YT alt.png

To round out a strong December and finish off 2022 proper, we've invited one of the newer faces to the scene of content creation. He made his first appearance with a favorite creator and buddy of ours, @aftersound, alongside another friend of the podcast, @darkestnyte, a few weeks back and it was immediately suggested to reach out and get him on the show - so, of course we did!

Please join us in welcoming @foyet to the People's Guild.

A self-described DeFi game aficionado that has put Splinterlands at the top of his list, Foyet is a technology governance and risk management specialist, and with that brings a fresh and unique perspective to our community.

Furthermore, he's spent time studying Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and has ambitions to apply this, alongside his professional skills, to the world of Splinterlands.

We are stoked to get taken to school in this episode!
