The All New YGGSPL Tournaments

It’s that time again guys and gals! Sharpen those battle axes, polish your swords and prepare to clash for the internal YGGSPL tournaments! Bish, bash, bosh!

We here at the E-sports committee have changed things up a little. There will now be 6 different leagues, Silver, Gold and Diamond, with all having both wild and modern formats.

Each league will have three qualifying rounds, where points will be gained. The top 20 positions in each league will be awarded points plus 300 DEC. So, for example, first place will get 20pts, second place 19 pts, and this will scale all the way down to 20th place who receives 1pt.

After the three qualification rounds have finished, all the points will be totted up, and then the top 5 players from each league will enter a finals tournament. So for example, the top 5 players from the 3 Silver Modern Qualifiers and and the top 5 players from the 3 Silver Wild Qualifiers will slug it out against each other in a grand finale.

But what format will the grand finale be in? Great question! Well, we add up the points from the ten combatants from both leagues (eg. Silver Wild & Silver Modern), and whichever league has the most combined points, then that is the format of the grand finale.

So, for example, if the top 5 players from the Silver Modern Qualifiers had a combined total of 180 pts, and and the top 5 players from the Silver Wild Qualifiers had a combined total of 179 pts, then the final would be in modern format.

And for all the OGs out there, the finals will be a good old fashioned slug fest. No bot helpers allowed, mano a mano, toe to toe, human vs human...just like the good old days!

The prize pool ain’t too shabby either. There will be a total of 30k DEC given out for each final, with the winner taking home a cool 10k DEC. (1st:10k, 2nd:5k, 3rd:5k, 4th:2.5k, 5th:2.5k and 6th to 10th:1k each. All payments will be in DEC)

And just a reminder, these tournaments are internal. If you would like to participate, then you would have to be a member of a YGG guild. Check us out at the YGGSPL website on how and where to join a guild.
