Keep an eye on SmackDown’s Carmelo Hayes! He really burst onto the scene last week by challenging WWE Champion Cody Rhodes himself.

He didn’t win, but he sure showed some guts claiming he was shooting from the logo and nearly hit.

I’ve been following Hayes ever since his time in NXT; the guy has been grinding for years. He started at the bottom on the indies before making it to NXT where his journey was something else – NXT Champion, two-time North American Champion and even Cruiserweight Champ.

But what really caught my attention is when he faced off against his old friend Trick Williams not too long ago.

Those two had this intense rivalry, and eventually Trick came out on top walking away with the NXT Title. But there was no bitterness, just respect. Trick showed nothing but love for his boy Carmelo saying he’s super hyped for him and calling him a freakin’ phenomenal talent. You can’t beat that kind of friendship man.

The fact that Carmelo made it to the main roster is so motivational. It just goes to show you that hard work pays off no matter where you start. It’s not all about winning championships either; it’s about the journey and the people you meet along the way. Their story of Carmelo and Trick has proved this.

I’m really looking forward to what Carmelo Hayes will do next on SmackDown! Maybe he’ll get another title shot, or maybe he’ll start a new feud. Whatever it is, I’m behind him all the way. He’s shown that he can do it, and I’m ready for him to shine on the grandest stage of them all.
