Cody Rhodes' Road to Glory in WWE

At Backlash, Cody Rhodes defended his WWE Championship against AJ Styles, and boy was it a barnburner! Cody won clean. However, he did imply in an interview after that there might be another match down the road with AJ. That would be amazing!
Cody also talked about other wrestlers who could challenge him for the title. One of them is LA Knight and I think that would be pretty neat. They’re both good guys but there’s just something about wrestling each other according to Cody. It’s almost as if they just want to know who is better and that is kind of exciting.
Then he mentioned some wrestlers who could be like his dad’s rivals back in the day. He said Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and AJ Styles; it’s cool how he looks at them as being his modern-day equivalents to guys like Ric Flair because you can tell by this statement alone how much respect he has for those performers
However, Cody’s talk about facing Randy Orton, his former mentor, was the most intriguing part for me. He spoke of how Randy had helped him when he first joined WWE and now as the reigning champion he wants to know where he stands against him. Taking into account their past together I believe this could be one very emotional match.
And then there is that thing with Rock. The Rock confronted Cody on Raw after WrestleMania and gave him something saying that their story was just beginning but Cody didn’t like it so now he wants to finish things with The Rock. I can’t even imagine how intense would be that match!
But what excites me most about Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is what comes next. Whether it is rematches with old mentors or settling scores with legends such as Rock, undoubtedly he will continue putting on amazing matches and entertaining us all.
