When it comes to professional wrestling, storytelling is more important than what happens in the ring.
I concur with Becky Lynch on this one. She said something alike while advertising her new book and WrestleMania 40. There were those who did not agree with her, however, i still stand by what she said.
For me, professional wrestling is more than just about fighting inside a ring. It is like watching a movie or play. You anticipate for a nice story to unfold. These characters, their feuds and the drama keep me interested.
True, it’s fun to watch wrestling moves but that doesn’t figure as a primary attraction point as far as I am concerned.
The matches are actually built upon stories and that’s what holds my attention. Not only does a good storyline hold my interest regardless of whether or not the actual wrestling aspect is top notch; it also maintains suspense of how things will turn out.
Think about this – some of the most iconic moments in wrestling history were not necessarily because of what happened in the ring during the match but due to the storylines leading up to them. Whether it be betrayed friendship, seeking vengeance or going after a championship title; it’s an emotional reaction that makes these moments unforgettable.”
For example, think of WrestleMania. It is the biggest annual wrestling event for wrestling enthusiasts. Nonetheless, it is not merely about matches that make it special. The buildup, expectation, and story told in preparation for such matches till this day make it memorable.

I can see why some people may disagree with me on this point. They may argue that wrestling itself should take center stage after all it’s a sport right?
But I consider pro-wrestling to be more than just a sport. It is an entertainment form and also a performance art where storytelling matters as much as athleticism does.
In conclusion no matter what you think of Becky Lynch there is one fact: Pro wrestling is an unusual mix of athleticism and storytelling which enthralls audiences across the globe.
And for me, the reason why it is so special is
