The Rock's Controversial Gesture on Smackdown

I am an ardent fan of wrestling and thus it did not slip my mind about the unusual moment that transpired between the Rock and the bloodline on Friday Night Smackdown.

The rock’s gesture as he avoids doing the one but instead generating the L has left many fans speculating about what this could mean i.e., his intention.

I always loved how The Rock could tell a story in the ring with his charisma. Thus when he altered from their usual practice of putting up the number one sign with the blood line members, it got my attention.

At first, I didn’t know what to make out of it.

Was it by mistake?

Or was there something more behind it?

From following this segment carefully and reading different online forums including the YouTube link above, I have concluded that it was intentionally done by The Rock, and here is why:

His love for detail and the ability to make an interesting story in wrestling has made the Rock famous.

His storytelling skills are unmatched, every single gesture from him bears significance and even every word he speaks does likewise. Therefore, when he chose the “L” instead of the “one”, I think it was a strategic setup for a future feud between him and Roman Reigns.

The leader and head of the Bloodline is Roman Reigns, who embodies supremacy and power.

By using “the L” as opposed to "the ones", Rock was letting us know that he is someone who would question his authority later on.

But why the letter L?

Some say it means ‘lucha’ or ‘loser’ but according to me it’s a play on words.

The Rock is preparing to bring down Reigns, and humble him in front of the WWE Universe.

It’s such small things that count for much laying groundwork towards what seems an inevitable obstacle between them.

Well, I know some might argue that it’s just an oversite on the part of The Rock's path, but I can’t believe that such a screw-up would be made by him, Twice👀

I think The Rock’s gesture on Smackdown was a calculated move towards starting a clash between him and Roman reigns in future events.

This is proof of how smart he is when performing and engaging his audiences through narratives.

Personally, I am eagerly looking forward to the day these two behemoths finally meet in combat.
