$THGAMING Tokens rewards

Hello fellow Hiveans. As most of you know simply upvoting (liking) any posts tagged with the #thgaming hashtag will earn you $THGAMING tokens at a rate of 50% to the post writer and 50% to the curator (person upvoting). The more $THGAMING you have Staked, the more you can earn.

As mentioned in our Discord Server 7 days ago, we have decided to decrease $THGAMING rewards on the Hive blogging networks, and have opted for a 25% reward reduction. But don't be alarmed, this is a positive move, otherwise we would not be doing it. We continually have to evolve our distribution methods or risk oversupplying the market, which will invariably lead to the price of the $THGAMING Token decreasing steadily over time.

25% Reduction in Rewards, and the new 50/50 split

We always want to be transparent in our Tokenized economy, which is why we aren't secretly going ahead with this reduction in rewards but want the community to be aware of these changes.

$THGAMING Tokens curation rewards will be reduced by 25%, meaning the earning pool will go from : 453 600 $THGAMING per month to 362 880 $THGAMING per month, paid out across all voters of #thgaming or #cryptoshots tagged posts. We will also be providing 50% of $THGAMING rewards in the Staked form (4 weeks to Unstake).

The main reasons we have opted to decrease curation rewards are the following:

  1. $HIVE's increasing value (share price) makes it more valuable so people will likely sell a lot of their Layer-2 Tokens to acquire $HIVE during this Bull Market.

  2. We seek to decrease inflation (number of daily minted $THGAMING) to increase $THGAMING's rarity, so earners will be less inclined to simply sell them all.

  3. We want to reward those people who have been acquiring, staking and hodling $THGAMING Tokens during the bear market. Our goal is to make sure their investment of money and/or time retains value during this Bull Run.

  4. The collapse of a number of great Tokenised Tribes due to inflation (over supply) of their own Token has made us even more wary, and we need to take steps to make sure we don't follow the same path.

  5. To incentivize people to earn $THGAMING (and other Token rewards) by providing liquidity in the SWAP.HIVE:THGAMING and PIMP:THGAMING Liquidity Pools.

  6. To incentivize people to acquire and Stake our $MINTHAGG miners which passively earn you $THGAMING Tokens. All proceeds from $MINTHAGG Sales go directly towards THGaming Guild's continued development.

While out Whitepaper, created 2 years ago, mentioned $THGAMING Distribution mechanisms increasing over time, we have realised that (for now) we need to decrease our supply. Our belief in $HIVE (as a blockchain) and HIVE-ENGINE (as a sidechain) has not diminished, but until hundreds of thousands of new bloggers and gamers flood into the $HIVE ecosystem there simply isn't enough demand for Tribe Tokens such as ours, at least not at the rate we are currently minting.

However, please note that after two years we have ONLY minted 5.97% of our Total Supply and the vast majority of minted $THGAMING is either Staked or in one of our Liquidity Pools.

Two Years on Hive-Engine

Now, let's look back at some of the Developments for our Token and Guild as a whole since we Tokenised 2 years ago!

Tokenisation - Feb 2022

After minting the $THGAMING Token on February 1st 2022, we had some early buy-ins and saw our wallet numbers expand rapidly. 2022 was an incredibly difficult year for crypto but the markets seem to be improving in 2023/2024 so let's all hope that 2024 brings the next $BITCOIN bull run, and millions of new crypto daily investors, developers and users!

IMPORTANT 2022-2024 TOKEN UPDATES:

To prepare for this next bull market, we're continuing to develop use cases for $THGAMING focused on increasing demand. We also have plans for increasing distribution (minting) mechanisms, but we're waiting for the $HIVE (crypto) market and robustness of $THGAMING to stabilize and recover. We will highlight some of our most important token updates below:

$THGAMING SMT (Curation) Contract

Posting in the THGaming Community or using the #thgaming hashtag will qualify you for earning $THGAMING through Hive's curation process: upvotes. Promoting quality content remains the primary focus of our curation efforts, so keep that in mind when posting. Curation is not guaranteed and is usually proportional to post quality. We have also added #cryptoshots to our curation contract, the first game we have taken this step with.

  • The equation: 60sec x 60min x 24hr x 30day ÷ 150sec x 21rew

  • We are also large holders of $PIMP, $LOLZ, $FUN, $LGN, $PGM and a few other Layer-2 Tokens, so we include them in our curation efforts while also using the !PIMP !LOLZ !PGM tip commands on Quality Posts!
Liquidity Pool Rewards

Our original $SWAP.HIVE Liquidity Pool offers a place for investors to SWAP our $THGAMING Tokens for $SWAP.HIVE; Hive Engine's Layer-2 swappable version of $HIVE which can be withdrawn (converted) to $HIVE at any time. The amazing $PIMP Community also voted to create a $PIMP:$THGAMING Liquidity Pool, so now $THGAMING can be swapped for $PIMP, or visa versa. Both LP's have some tasty rewards in so head on over to the BeeSwap Frontend to check them out yourself.

Future Plans : 2024 and Beyond

We will continue to increase use cases for our token by incorporating $THGAMING into more gaming economies. The bigger we grow as a guild, the more games will want to work with us, and it is my belief that one day $THGAMING will become a Hive Utility token usable in many different gaming ecosystems. Once we have considerable Hive support, we will look at expanding our cross-chain strategies to popular gaming chains such as $WAX, $ETH, $MATIC and $BNB.

In 2024, we will strive to connect with more games and relevant crypto platforms on $HIVE as well as other blockchains. This includes taking the time to research each project thoroughly and never go 'all in'. Many projects will fail in the long run, and we don't want to overcommit our resources to any single game or platform, diversification is key! We will endeavor to bring opportunities to our Guild Members and will never use the $THGAMING token as leverage in loans (this is what destroyed the FTX Exchange in November 2022).

We will continue to self fund our own development, manage our crypto assets carefully, and help to build up and support the Hivechain as much as possible. Our success relies on $HIVE's success, and perhaps one day @thgaming will be integral to the Hivechain's development and expansion.
