My first maxed Splinterlands card | Twilight Basilisk

From close to zero to having a silver powered deck in a few days

If you told me this a week ago, I would have laughed in your face. I was seriously thinking one needs several thousands of dollars to get to silver 3, and when I started to buy cards to rent them out, I never dreamed I could buy myself up to 16K power with these fund as I kept reading you need 10k+ to get there. It felt demotivating honestly. My deck is worth about 450 bucks and 16k Collection power. I saw a few opportunities with some cards that were offered levelled, and then I noticed I could add my previously purchased cards to max it out. So I did. Meet my very first maxed card in Splinterlands:

I can't do anything with this maxed power myself, this will not even be the case in the near future probably, as I still suck at the game (haha). But I do feel a passion for it, and the art, on top of that, I see opportunities to earn some dollars.

Fun fact: This dragon has been my favorite monster so far when it comes to the looks. I was thinking if I ever enter the @Splinterlands art contest, it will be with this monster. Therefore I find it extra cool that I managed to max this one out first. Pure for rental purposes, btw.

Cooldown question

While we're at it, and talking Splinterlands, I hope someone can answer this question that's been burning in my mind. I have already noticed that when someone rents a card from me, the card isn't in cooldown for me afterwards, which is great! But how does it work with all the 1 day rentals? Will they be in cooldown for 24 hours before another person can rent it, or I mean, use it in battle? Although I have quite a few longer rentals, I also see a lot of people renting for a single day, and I haven't been able to figure out if there were cooldowns as the cards move so fast, I can hardly keep up and check.

Tournaments

I'm thinking about signing up for one and see if I like that. It will be nice practice and then I can see how that all goes as well.
I will probably not do this before I have some more cards available for my own play though, as most of them are in the rental market now. I have to sort this out a bit in the next week so that I can have a few nice cards added to each splinter for myself without renting them out constantly.

New community: 1UP!

I'm publishing this post from a brandnew community by @flauwy called 1UP! I saw @raymondspeaks mentioning it in the Mancave earlier and joined the discord right away. I love having more communities to choose from when I publish something. I often head back to Peakd though, as it's so user friendly.

You can publish all your game related content as well as NFT related content in this community, therefore it's actually one that's currently fitting my like a glove. I'm going to promote an NFT project in the next days by starting a contest where they have committed to gifting an NFT to the winner, and I know already that I will be publishing this in the 1UP community as this one feels like the best fit for likeminded people.

More about that in the next days! If you're a community leader from one of the art communities you may see a DM soon to ask for some support regarding spreading the word..

Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
