"For reasons unknown, these creatures spend most of their time hidden within the clouds, but from the limited studies done, it is evidenced they have a strong resistance to magic and a predilection for hunting at night when the moon is full." - Excerpt from Void Dragon's SplinterLore

Void Dragon

Another Dragons Challenge. A flexible splinter that makes this challenge fun. It allows me to experiment and try out different card combinations.

League: Silver 1
Mana Cap: 26
Match Rules: Knockout and No Melee Units

This is a relatively low mana cap match for dragons. I am expecting range and magic damage sources from my opponent, hence I need high speed units and magic mitigation among the units I a plan to use. With that, my strategy for the match was win by applying negative effects, slowly applying damage and evading attacks as much as I can.

Below is the line up I used and reasons for using the said units.

Line Up

Summoner: Quix, The Devious
Level: 2
Abilities: All Enemies Have -1 Ranged Attacks and All Enemies Have -1 Speed Rationale: Quix, The Devious is a good pick when going for a debuff strategy. By default all opponents receive downgrades on both speed and range attacks.
First Position: Void Dragon
Level: 2
Abilities: Flying and Void (Reduced Damaged from Magic Attacks)
Rationale: Due to a low mana cap, the Void Dragon is a perfect fit for this match. It offers high evasion due to its high speed and flying ability plus, it will take less damage from magic attacks. It also deals 1 magic damage.
Second Position: Time Mage
Level:3
Ability: Slow (Reduces Speed of All Enemy)
Rationale: Debuffer that deals magic damage.
Third Position: Creeping Ooze
Level: 1
Ability: Slow (Reduces Speed of All Enemies)
Rationale: Meat shield and more speed debuff; thus, slowing enemy monsters further due to stacking.Plus, it is the first card I bought when I started playing :)
Forth Position: Naga Assassin
Level: 4
Ability: Backfire (Deals 2 damage when an opponent misses an attack)
Rationale: Damage Dealer. A fast unit that a has potential to deal 2 Backfire damage.
Forth Position: Pelacor Arbalest
Level: 4
Ability: Double Strike (Attacks twice on each round).
Rationale: Main DPS of the lineup. With the amount of speed reduction received by the enemy units, almost guarantees 4 points of damage for each round.

Last Position: Doctor Blight
Level: 2
Ability: Affliction (Enemy affected by affliction cannot heal), Camouflage (Cannot be targeted by an attack unless it is on first postion) and Poison (Poisoned Enemies takes two damage each round)
Rationale: All the things trying to be accomplished by this lineup placed into a single card. Cannot be targeted, debuffer and damage dealer. An extremely powerful card. Nuff Said!!!

The strategy worked well on this match. As seen on the video, the speed of my opponent's cards were greatly reduced allowing me to attack first.

It is also evident when looking at the Djinn Oshannus' speed as it's speed was reduced to three. Quix has also negated Kelya's speed buff. Other debuffers have also slowed down my opponents further.

The -1 to range attack from Quix has also mitigated the damage the Axe Master can deal.

My line up then proceeded to chip away at the enemy units one by one applying all sorts of debuffs in the process. It is also worth noting of the Affliction from Doctor Blight that blocked the Merdaali Guardian's intended heal to the Djinn Oshannus.

If there was something that I needed to perhaps change in this match, I could switch the Time Mage and Creeping Ooze position, giving me a secondary tank.
