A Dream Fulfilled: Samuel's Nobel Prize Win!

There was this young guy whose name is samuel.

He was like a senior brother to me then because he was older than me by seven years. I usually just call him bro Sam. He used to Stay on my street. Samuel has always been In love with any science related discussion, most especially when it had to do with physics and mathematics. His love for science started right from his childhood. Samuel started solving ordinary differential equations (O.D.E)at a very young age (15). He spent most of his childhood time reading books that talked about space, galaxies, and of course the universe. He has always dreamt of one day contributing to the scientific community in a meaningful way, and even winning a Nobel Prize.

Samuel's parents always supported his passion for science, although they were not wealthy they could hardly afford three square meals a day so as a result of this, They could only afford to send him to a local community college after high school. Even with the financial issues his parents faced, Samuel was so determined on pursuing his dream of becoming a well known astrophysicist. Well I have always known Samuel to be a very determined guy and so I wasn't surprised he didn't let the financial issues pull him down.

He worked so hard in his classes and also participated in so many research projects with professors. Two years later, Samuel moved to a better fredral university where he was offered a scholarship to continue the pursuit of his dream. There, he met with Dr. Whitney, a brilliant female astrophysicist who became not just his role model, but also his guide down his field of study.

Samuel worked really hard under Dr. Whitney's guidance and made great contributions to his research projects. With the dedication he put towards His research work, it didn't take too long before he got the attention of other well-known scientists in the field too. Samuel was invited to speak at different international conferences, where he presented his research.

Few Years went by, and of course Samuel's research continued to get better and better.

His work on dark energy was really breathtaking and made a huge impact in the field of astrophysics!! He soon began to publish several articles and books which attracted international recognition and praise.
Finally one day, Samuel received the information that he had been dreaming all night of. He had been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics!! He definitely was the first person from his hometown to receive such a prestigious award. Samuel at first couldn't believe it. It really was a moment he has been dreaming of for many years he couldn't help but shed tears of joy.

Shortly after, he was invited to Stockholm, Sweden, to receive his award at the Nobel Prize ceremony. Once again he was filled with emotions as he walked towards the stage to receive the prize.

In his speech, he spoke about many challenges he faced as a young guy from a poor family who tried trying everything they could to make ends meet and how his love for science has helped him break loose from those challenges he also thanked his parents for their efforts and most importantly, for supporting him the best way they could. I was with his parents that day and we were all watching him on the tv. I could see the joy and pride in his parents that day. They were so happy their son had achieved his dream and received the highest degree in the scientific community.

After the ceremony, samuel came back home and i must say we all saw him like a hero and of course we gave him a hero's welcome😅. Few Days later, not just our street but the whole community, organized a parade in his honor for making us all proud and at least making us known internationally. He was also interviewed by several media outlets. Samuel used the opportunity to talk to the young ones, especially less privileged ones, and also inspired them to pursue their dreams and never give up. That day, I could see that truly some dreams do come true.
