From A Hanging Phone to An Ice-Box

Just sitting idle after the service yesterday, I vividly recalled a funny, and unwise decision I made years ago that cost me my phone ( Tecno Spark 1).

So, it was just like every other Friday afternoon, only that this particular Friday, I was unusually hyper active, and I really wanted to channel that energy through the call of duty game (C.O.D), which was just launched that year.

I had already been warned by my friends, prior to my downloading of the game, that the game was way too heavy for my phone which had just 1gb of RAM...well, trust me I paid deaf ears to their warnings.
However, I installed the game for the very first time, and opened it up to play, setting my fingers on my phone like a professional gamer.

Immediately I clicked on the game, I noticed a rapid and serious rise In my phone temperature...in fact, it was at that moment that I discovered my phone was actually a two in one phone—my phone also had the ability of a laundry iron, because of how hot it could get. I actually ignored this heating up of my phone, because I was just so interested in the game, and eventually I was prompted by the game to sign up, that was where I got stuck for more than 45 minutes lol.

This phone of mine kept crashing repeatedly at the sign up part, and was getting hotter every passing minute. While trying to deal with this frustration, a thought which seemed like a very brilliant one came to me— "It seems this phone is refusing to respond majorly because of how hot it is...let me just put it in the cold fridge since there is still light.". Immediately without even thinking twice, unserious me stood up to place the phone in the fridge.

"What could possibly go wrong here, it's not like I'm leaving it for an hour, I just want to leave it in the fridge for at most 10-15 minutes'' so I thought to myself.
Immediately after soliloquising, I placed the phone carefully in the fridge, and went back to the sitting room, but this time I made a very wrong decision of lying down on one of the sofa chairs....Immediately I lied down on the chair, with the hope of waiting for just 10 to 15 minutes, to get my cool phone, I unfortunately slept off, and so 1 hour passed, and I was still in dreamland, 2,3 hours passed similarly leaving me in my dreamland.

It was the electricity light that went off that succeeded in waking me up. Sluggishly looking up to see the time, I noticed that I had slept for almost 4 hours.

Remembering my phone was still in the fridge, I jumped up immediately, like I had spring implanted in my buttocks, and rushed down to the fridge to get my phone, hopefully in sound condition, but I was just deceiving myself, because at that time, my phone was already an homemade ice box lol—it had not just gotten below 0⁰Celsius, but had at that moment, been covered up in ice.

With fear in me, I got it out, and placed it in front of my compound,
hoping the already dimming sun could still help me with melting the ice, I sat down under the sun with it, more like I was giving myself punishment for behaving nonchalant.

Few minutes later, the ice melted off, and my phone was left, filled with water, and obviously, the phone had no capability of repelling water, and so it refused to respond even when I tried powering it up.

Looking for who or what to blame for the dilemma, I began to rant and shout at my fridge out of frustration lol— yelling so much at it, and even questioning why it would be so cold and merciless to my phone. I guess I was only trying not to hit the nail on the head, because it's obvious I was the one that had that rubbish thought in the first place, not the fridge.

At the end of the day, I lost my newly downloaded game, i lost my dearly loved phone, and even got annoyed with my refrigerator(can you imagine?).

Thanks For Reading.

Guy!😂😂😂
You made me to remember.

Yeah, last two years where I worked in an eatery, there was light 24/7 with good working deep freezers. When I've pressed some hell out of my phone, I usually put it in one of the freezers to regain it sense. Omo! I put the phone there one day and I forgot to remove it for almost two hrs. You need to see how crazy I became that day

😂😂😂 but the fridge is not to blame now. It was not the fridge that asked you to put your phone inside of it.

Please do not get angry anymore with the fridge abeg
