Peter and His Phone of Two Makers

(Edited)

Just sitting idle today, I vividly recalled a very funny experience my roommate(Peter ) once had. Peter has always been a very funny and mischievous guy, who makes the room quite fun filled, and as a matter of fact, I have written a funny experience with him in one of my previous posts.

Well, in this particular post will be sharing Peter's funny experience with online-vendor scammers.

Peter has always been a very hard to believe guy, In the sense that he hardly believes people if they can't show him proof and as such, he always preached against online purchases, because of his past experience with scammers. One Tuesday morning, Peter told me about his plans on getting a new and improved android phone, and how much he had saved to get an "Infinix phone". As a good friend I was totally in support of the purchase, what I wasn't in support of though, was his method of purchase— Peter who never liked online purchases, was so eager to make one that day, boasting of how cheap, and good looking this infinix phone was. On hearing the price of the phone, even I myself was scared for him, because it was pretty obvious that it was a scam...and I tried to warn him, but as usual, Peter paid deaf ears to my warning, and went ahead with the purchase.
The shipping was actually a very quick one, tightly packaged, and was delivered to our doorstep. Well, I can't blame him for not checking what he bought in front of the delivery guys...he checked out, and these delivery guys drove off. With joy in his heart, and of course mine, we danced and shook hands severally, all with the intention to welcome in a brand new, and more advanced phone into Peter's life.
It wasn't until we had merried to the fullest that we thought of taking a look at the phone and its features...There and then was when the saga started. First of all, we noticed that the phone's language by default was set to Chinese...this actually looked really weird, as neither of us could even understand what we saw on the screen. Making the matter worse, the phone was a lot smaller than we actually saw online, but we tried to console ourselves with the brand name( Infinix ) on the back of the phone.

Though we were unhappy, we didn't give up on the phone. And so we restarted the phone, but instead of seeing the traditional infinix logo, and hearing their trademark sound, we just saw the word 'Coolpad' which I presume was the actual name of the phone my friend had actually dabbled into. At this point I myself was sincerely confused and didn't even know if I should laugh or not...still contemplating what to do next, the phone tripped off for no exact reason. On opening the back of the phone, we further discovered that the phone itself had the trademark name 'coolpad' on it,

same with the battery...it was then that it dawned on us that Peter had bought a coolpad, in an Infinix clothing. Immediately, we tried calling the people he bought the phone from but it obviously was already too late...it turned out that they blocked him immediately after they delivered the phone, and we had merried and bought drinks just for a scrap phone. At that point I tried to console him and not make him feel too guilty even though I was trying my best to hold back that devilish laugh.
I began to make him see reasons why the phone wasn't that bad, even though I knew it was even worse. Well, I guess I wasn't really good at hiding feelings so, the moment he looked at my face, while giving him reasons why he should make use of the phone that way, he saw mild smiles on my face, and got even madder, that he smashed the phone to the ground...

at that point I knew if I didn't pick the phone fast enough, he was going to repeat it again and again and so I rushed to pick the phone, to keep it till he was at least not so mad again. Well, we are humans, and we adapt quite quickly. And so I wasn't really surprised when my friend took back his hybrid phone from me later in the evening, and even added his sim cards to make calls, and take pictures with it.
And that was it...Peter, the mischievous dude till today, walks proudly with his hybrid phone (cool-finix)

even though he damaged the screen on the very day of purchase.

How unpleasant that people cheat because one trusts and eats what is not and becomes distrustful for all the others who may be good and honest but one is marked.

Yeah it's really bad but then Peter should also be blamed for looking for a very cheap but quality gadget lol
