Don't buy a quest potion rent instead!

If you've ever eye-balled the quest potions for those extra reward drops, you may want to reconsider. Most of the bronze-tier players have probably noticed changes in their rewards lately. Thus the desire for more chest rewards builds up. But hold that finger and don't click that buy button!

That well-earned DEC spent elsewhere is going to increase the power of your account faster than some items in the game. I'm here to speak to you about renting cards and how that benefits your account progression.

Renting cards is the process of using DEC to borrow cards for a determined amount of DEC a day. In a sense, it is a contract between two accounts, the lender and the borrower.

For example, here is me lending out a card through PeakMonsters:

I'm renting Albatross out for 1.026 DEC a day, and the borrower has decided to borrow it for a few days. What's left of the contract is 1.3 days. In total, I'll make around 3 DEC for the full-length contract of three days.

Here's an example of a cheaper rental for a lower rarity and leveled card:

Although, renting these cards out makes my power drop. Players can use the same PeakMonsters for renting cards to boost their power to climb ranks. Be warned that your rental can run out before the season ends. If that happens, your tier will fall, and your rewards will drop. To use rentals effectively, you must make enough DEC to maintain those rentals. Gain higher tier rewards from them to start a collection of your own. The minimum tier to aim for low-power players is Bronze I, or the best is Silver III.

Bronze I has the highest drop of cards per chest in the low-tiers. It has a 30% card drop rate but no DEC. Silver III and up have the best drops overall because they add DEC to the list and a 50% card drop rate. After Silver III only changes to rewards are to the amount you get. The percentages stop changing.

Here is the chart from Splinterlands fandom wiki:

Just know from these examples, as a regular player, that sometimes hard work doesn't make you money. You've also got to be effective and use your effort wisely. Most of us don't have a ton of time to play but maximizing your daily quest chests and season rewards can increase profit and power long term.

Research into rentals and rewards shows me how to use my time effectively. Silver III will be my minimum goal every season, and renting out cards will also give me extra DEC. Since I'm busy most of the week, there isn't time to climb high into the ranks.

I hope this knowledge helps players looking into playing Splinterlands more time efficiently. Good luck out there, and I hope your chest rewards treat you nicely.
