Strategy

Today's battle was a low mana battle, from my experience in the league i'm in I know that the death splinter holds the highest chance for success in this low mana battle. Here is the team I picked and reasons why I chose these creatures and summoner.

Thaddius Brood
Thaddius was my summoner of choice as the minus 1 to magic and life are really good in low mana match ups.

Cursed Windeku
Easy choice of tank. Windeku provides a big body, good speed and attack and of course the 'Thorns' Ability which is great for extra damage.

Carrion Shade
Even though the Carrion Shade is this weeks chosen creature, it is always a great second position choice in low mana battles. It provides an extra body to tank up another hit before they get to your damage dealers. It also takes the first hit from any snipe creatures they might have, helping to protect the damage dealers.

Death Elemental
The Elemental is another must have in low mana battles, as it has great speed and the snipe ability has a chance to take out a low hp damage dealer on the opponents team.

Life Sapper
Life Sapper provides another source of magic damage and will also boost its own hp, as long as its doing damage.

Creeping Ooze
With low mana battles there is normally only a few setups that are used, because of this I expected a similar line up from my opponent. Normally I would include the 1 mana chaos agent, but for a possible mirror match up I chose the Ooze to be able to slow their teams speed and get my attacks in first.

Here are the stats of my creatures:

Q: Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
A: I believe that this line up is one of the best possible line ups for an 18 mana cost battle when only entry level cards can be used (change Ooze to Chaos Agent for lower price/newer players). This will change when higher value and older cards are used but for lower league players this line up will provide a good win/loss ratio.

Q: Do you like the Carrion Shade? Why or why not?
A: The Carrion Shade is a staple to this team and a great 1 mana cost card to use in any low mana battles. I really like this card and will continue to use it.

If you feel there is a better line up for an 18 mana battle using newer base cards then please let me know in the comments and i'll be happy to check it out. Can be in any splinter too not just death.

Till next time good luck in your battles.
