Strategy

Q: Tell us about your lineup.
A: As the battle was 99 mana I was able to stack the deck with some beefy cards, I started with Yodin as my summoner to provide +1 to my ranged creatures and of course blast which is very strong, as well as the extra hp.

Living Lava

Living Lava is the first of my two tanks in this matchup, it has good melee damage with a high health pool. The Shield ability also gives me an extra layer of defense against physical damage.

Grum Flameblade

The Beef king himself, This badboy has everything you could want in a frontman for a high mana battle. His abilities Void Armour and Bloodlust are just wonderful. Void Armour adds defense to magic attacks if they manage to chew through my physical resistant first tank. Bloodlust is great to make him even stronger and once it starts to proc it is hard to slow him down.

Lava Launcher

Lava Launcher is the start of our ranged damage crew and packs quite a punch while sporting some good defensive numbers. The Close Range ability allows it to still attack from the front position 'if' they manage to make it through my two tanks.

Mantoid

Another good ranged damage creature with high life and the Snipe ability. Snipe and blast can be a devastating combo for any team to deal with.

Lava Spider

The creature of the hour, providing ranged damage a good life pool and Snipe, it along with Mantoid helps destroy the middle of their lineup.

Supply Runner

Our final ranged damage offers good base ranged damage, high life and has a lot of speed to get the attacks off early.

Results

Q: Did your strategy work? What will you try differently next time?
A: The strategy worked well but in saying that I did have a lot of high powered cards.

Q: Do you like the Lava Spider? Why or why not?
A: With Yodin the Lava Spider is a good addition, it adds ranged attack to the group which gets boosted from Yodin and it also provides snipe which effectively hits 3 targets when paired with blast from Yodin.
I will admit that I often don't use Lava Spider in my teams because when I choose fire its for its melee and sneak creatures.
