MY INTRODUCTION TO SPLINTERLANDS

I've been a member on this platform for months and I've seen how people share their posts on one of the most popular NFT games "splinterlands" and I've really developed interest in this play2earn game but it looks kind of complex and I couldn't fathom what's going on the splinterlands platform.

Here in my University, we had a festive holiday for the Christmas and newyear. So we made this sweet holiday as a great opportunity to make arrangement of meeting with with one of the vast gamer on this splinterlands platform, the person of @lemeonna.

Actually I didn't go for the holiday break so I wasn't part of the splinterlands training. But for the love of our university hive community, few of our members went to for the game tutorial which is of a great benefit for those that wasn't present. @chosenfingers , @monioluwa , @manuel6 , @k-banti , @ijohnsen and of course our honourable leader @starstings01 were the members that took part in the gaming tutorial.

However, on school resumption I made a visit with @starstrings01 yesterday for some Hive discussions and most importantly my introduction into splinterland. We had quite a long day and I'm really happy I learned a lot about my dream play2earn game.

We had discussions regarding on how to make registration on splinterland, how to make cards purchase, how to make team for battle, tips of the game and also some basic facts a beginner is expected to take note of. I'd be discussing the few things I learnt from @starstrings01 about splinterland just yesterday. This might not really be useful for those that are well grounded in the game already but I think some beginners like me would find this interesting ☺️☺️.

How To Make Registration

Checking the splinterlands website https://splinterlands.com, one can make registration using the website. However, one can also check for the splinterlands app on Google playstore or the Apple store for for the iOS users. The registration begins by creating an account with a desired mail and a password.

Making registration doesn't make you eligible to play and earn points. However, a hive crypto wallet will by default be generated for you upon registration.

CARDS

It is quite clear that splinterland is a collectible card game which means that you have to get cards before you get started with the gaming. So to get cards, you'll have to check on the link when you can purchase card and you'll see a page of Summoner's spellbook where you can purchase the cards for just $10.

So these cards are to be used for the game battle keeping in mind that your opponent may have better cards than you so it's your responsibility to ensure you pick the best cards for the battle.

DETAILS ABOUT CARDS

1. The MANA COST should be the influence of building up a team because the higher the MANA COST number, the more powerful the card will be. Which means one has to consider the MANA COST before gathering up a team.

2. The STATS explains the total estimated value of the power, speed, health and strength of a character

3. The NAME is the name of a chosen character

4. The LEVEL means that when a particular card keeps going higher level, it becomes more powerful card and can even unlock new features or abilities and also increase the STATS

5. This shows the experience gained and the bar shows the distance to next level.

6. The ABILITIES is where to check for other skills and ability during battle

GET STARTED WITH BATTLE

Before the commencement of the battle, each player is expected to make a team. Thus, to make a team one has to first pick a desired summoner. Therefore, there are monsters allocated for every summoner which means that a player has to carefully select a desired summoner in other to have efficient monster for the combat. Which means that your desired summoner will determine the monsters you'll have for the battle. So once you pick a summoner, you automatically get the allocated monsters for the chosen summoner.

The team positioning depends on how the monsters are being picked. Hence, one can decide to click on a monster and drag to the position of another monster in other to swap positioning.

The attack starts from the front for the Melee and the magic attackers. However, for a character with a range attack, such character can make an attack from afar.

Every monster behind a dead monster will keep filling up the void of the dead monster till all the monster dies and the opponent wins.

OTHER FUNS ON SPLINTERLANDS

Apart from playing the opposition combat, splinterlands gives room for players to become community members outside the gaming platform which is exactly why we're here and this can also assist a players to borrow cards for combat.
player can also compete in some event tournaments but currently this features hasn't been added to the mobile version for those making use of smartphones in playing the game.
