Today's Weekly Challenge features the Elven Cutthroat from Beta! Elven Cutthroat is a 3 mana card with 1 melee damage, 1 health, and 3 speed, with its main highlight being that it's a neutral card, allowing you to play it in any splinter!

The Lineup

This battle featured the Explosive Weaponry and Lost Magic Ruleset, so I chose to use the Death Splinter with Crypt Mancer as my summoner, planning to use his -1 health and speed to blow up my opponent's backline before they have a chance to fight back.

For my main tank, I used Harklaw, since he would tank very efficiently with his Shield ability in the Lost Magic Ruleset.

In the second and third slot, I used Centaur and Twisted Jester, taking advantage of their snipe ability in Explosive Weaponry to hit 3 enemy units at once.


In slot number four, I placed my Elven Cutthroat, then put Undead Badger in my last slot.

The Battle

My opponent chose Death as well, using Zintar, who lowers the damage of my Harklaw to 1, however I lower the damage of his Harklaw in addition to the health and speed loss his entire team suffers.

My plan pays off amazingly, eliminating all of my opponent's monsters except for Harklaw before they have the chance to do any damage of their own!

Since the Harklaws both have Shield, none of my monsters do any damage except for my Twisted Jester, so the enemy Harklaw slowly whittles down my backline, but my opponent's Harklaw is finally defeated on Round 23 after Fatigue had kicked in at the end of Round 21, leaving me victorious!

Closing Thoughts

My strategy worked EXTREMELY well, as I practically made my opponent play the match with only one card. The combined use of Sneak and Snipe monsters in Explosive Weaponry was simply devastating for my opponent, and it couldn't have been done without Elven Cutthroat. If you know your opponent is going to put squishy, high damage units in their last slots, I'd highly recommend Elven Cutthroat as a cheap option that you can use regardless of the splinter you're playing.
