Focusing on SPS and LAND
Splinterlands is once again undergoing a major shift
Some days ago they announced another round of layoffs which took everyone by surprise (the team included!). This is of course a bad sign, there is no way of sugar coating it and I feel personally let down since @aggroed said only recently that the company had another 1-2 years of "runway". Well.. turns out that was at best a half truth, and in the worst case a lie. This is the first time that I am having doubts in the project itself. It feels unreal that Aggy is going to distance himself from SPL.
But... the good news I guess is that they seem to finally understand what it means to focus and get the priorities straight. This is definitely by far the biggest mistake they have made over the last couple of years. All this time LAND and the economy should have been the #1 thing to do. But I guess, never late than never? I am not going to lie, the team now has to prove themselves to me that they can actually pull this off. So far I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, but if they pull something like that off again - I am out for good.
A good time to refocus my personal SPL goals
I guess many might take this as a good time to refocus on what they want with SPL. For me this means that I have decided to stop playing the game, but I am going to focus on LAND and SPS. As such I am currently selling all of my cards that are good for playing the game, but I am keeping and buying cards with high production points to utilize LAND. On LAND itself I am going to focus on SPS production since the research will mostly matter to people that will want to play the game as well.
Overall this feels good: I am refocusing my own goals and while I will stop playing, I am still a "believer" in SPL for the long run since I am buying and staking SPS. Now at 1.4 cents or so this seems like the best time to buy just before LAND gets out and REBELLION could attract new players.
