Golem Overlord - 3 Weeks Later

3 weeks go I started to play GO

It took a bit to get accustomed with the interface, but after some days all the stats and resources are quite easy to grasp. In fact, now I feel the game is way too simplistic. There are only a handful of stats, 1 resource (parts) and not many actions (upgrading, staking or battling). But one glance at the whitepaper reveals that the team is planning quite a bit more.

That's quite a list and it will take tremendous work and effort to get it all up and working. As with all web3 games, it's probably also going to take a long time before any of this hits the servers. But I suppose that's quite alright, especially if they actually deliver on most of these things. What this game now needs is diversification. It is way too simplistic to attack someone and the only things that really matter is power and fortification. We need more stats, spells/skills and other ideas to shake the game mechanic up.

High cost for playing

I only paid the initial 30 Hive to start the game and have since only bought 1 extra part for upgrading. I also didn't take anything out of the game yet since I always felt that it would affect my advancement too great and that it would be much easier to take out much more later in the game again. But with the recent updates one has to pour almost everything back into the game to stay afloat. The "problem" is that upgrading stats moves you up the ranking, but doing so requires greater upgrades since your defenses get relatively weaker etc. This of course is by design and I have yet to find a point where I feel I can make the 30 Hive back again. Not pouring more into the game means that there is a relatively slow progression, but after only 3 weeks I moved up by almost 3000 ranks. Obviously it's going to get a lot harder going forward, but so far it's quite alright.

Strategy?

Looking at the more advanced players it seems to me that balancing stats is the key. A high fortification is costly, but pays off since one can hoard quite a bit of parts before claiming them. I only get attacked 1-2 times per 8 hours and get to keep most of the scavenged parts; I can also attack some others and get about 1-2 parts as well.

Overall I am looking forward to more diversification and of course the implementation of the shards. Apparently we will also need faith to use the skills we get through them...

I've missed all the recent buzz around the recently launched games! Seems most are enjoying them and it's great to see the teams putting in the time and effort to make them enjoyable and (hopefully) profitable for most! Thnaks for sharing!

Its a frikkin fun game, I've been waiting for a text based game for a long time now... A fun one atleast.... I don't care too much about the profits that can be pulled aswell... Maximing the growth is important... But I hope you make it to the top!

I'll see you on the battlefield😎😎
