Splinterlands: Finally Reached Diamond III after ~1 year!

Ever since the massive onboarding last year, the game became really difficult

I remember that before splinterlands became successful it was really quite easy to reach champions league. But then came the Collection Power restriction and I fell back to Silver II! A lot of people stopped playing back then, but the cards became much more valuable as well with many regretting their premature drop out. Now that things have stabilized again and Chaos Legion is available to everyone things are getting a bit better it seems. Well it probably helps that I bought ~600 packs which gave me some good legendaries as well as some lvl 5 cards. But nevertheless the battles are still really challenging with quests now taking 30-60min to finish. So it can be tough to rise up the leagues. But... last season I (barely) managed Diamond III after about one year when I last played in Champions league. Most of the time I spent trying to build my Collection Power, but with Chaos Legion this was fairly easy. Although I did purchase some legendaries before that as the older cards have much more CP.

The irony is that my Collection Power is now much higher than the leagues I can reach. I could go to Diamond I with a couple more purchases, but it seems my decks just aren't that good enough. It is somewhat hard to say which cards would give me a better edge (except for the obvious Magnor/Lama combo etc.). I suppose I could always lvl up my summoners to lvl 5/6, but that is quite some investment.

I guess at the end I noticed that I actually like playing splinterlands even though it has became much less profitable. But then again, a lot of updates are incoming with boss fights, SPS rewards, the introduction of land etc...

The season rewards gave me 1 legendary so that is always nice :) What did you get in the last season?
